People on the Floor of the Train at the 137th Street Station – NYPD Ready to Shoot
The NYPD were at the 137th Street station in Manhattan with guns drawn on Christmas Eve. A man using TikTok shared a video of the incident.
The police yelled, “Move. Get on the Floor.” The people on the 1 train got down on the gross subway floor. I haven’t found a newspaper with the story yet.

Flipped Vehicle on 92nd Street in Bay Ridge
Around 2:30 pm today, a driver flipped their vehicle on 92nd Street and Fort Hamilton Parkway. The passengers were able to get out of the vehicle.
Emergency response vehicles were all over to assist and turn the vehicle upright. (See video)

Traffic Light Not Working 86th St. & 4th Avenue
The traffic light is not working at the intersection on 86th and 4th Avenue. (Comments left here say that traffic lights weren’t working on Friday too.)
Last year, when it was cold these lights stopped working too.
Usually the police direct traffic when this happens, but it’s Christmas Eve. Be careful!

Merry Christmas to the Queen of Christmas in Brooklyn, Lucy Spata
Lucy Spata is the Queen of Christmas in Brooklyn!
Her house is known as the “Nutcracker House” and she’s been decorating since the 1986, when she moved to Dyker Heights with her husband.
Spata’s decorations encouraged her neighbors to decorate and then the neighborhood became known as Dyker Lights.
Even when her husband passed away, she continued to decorate because she promised him she would.
Lucy Spata wants children and people to be happy when they see all of their homes. She’s the real deal — see her view here.

Santa Will Be in Bensonhurst on 12/25 With Toys
Santa will be in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn on Sunday, December 25th at 1:30 pm.
God bless the New Americans Civic League and the Santa that is working on Sunday.
These people want to make sure that all children receive a present….and that’s really important for a child!!

A Grinch Broke the Windows of Roccos
Michael Ragusa shared these photos of the broken windows at Rocco’s Pasticceria on the corner of 4th Avenue and 94th Street in Bay Ridge.
No business needs the added expense of paying for windows (and hunting someone down during a holiday season to replace the windows).
Many times our politicians will say they didn’t comment on something because it was an active investigation.
When I saw the comment below I was sad because we think these business owners are getting support, but they aren’t. Just another grinch in our community not doing their part!
If you have a chance, stop in Roccos – grab some holiday items or lunch to show support.

Thank You to Everyone Who Helped This Cat
This grey cat was crying under a car on 3rd Avenue and 93rd Street.
It was very cold out and a lot of people wanted to help this cat.
They got the cat out from under the car and brought it indoors. Thank God for all the animal lovers in this neighborhood!

Dog Found Alone in Brooklyn – Brought to SCAR
A good person saw this Bassett Hound on 60th Street and 6th Avenue in Sunset Park, Brooklyn this afternoon.
They fed the dog and eventually they were able to catch him, so he wasn’t walking around on the street alone.

They brought the dog to Sean Casey Animal Rescue at 153 E. 3rd Street in Brooklyn. 718-436-5163.
