New All Way Stop – Ridge & 88th Street
New signs were added to Ridge and 88th Street today! While this might be good in a month from now, right now it’s causing confusion because it was not introduced correctly.
Normally they paint the street to warn people. But since they know no one is checking things in our area, they just put up the signs.
This is causing a lot of confusion because some drivers don’t notice them and they are not stopping. The people who stopped are getting annoyed at the people who aren’t stopping their cars, so they can go through.
There is a lot of beeping and cussing!

National Grid – Delay Their Inspection If You Can – They Use Spray Paint Indoors
National Grid sent us a letter telling us that we needed to have a service line inspection.
We checked the tag in the basement and it says the last time they were here was 2019.
They don’t have weekend appointments, so went onto their website and made an appointment or this week so we could get it done. Their letter threatened to charge $100 if we didn’t.
A contractor hired by National Grid called about 10 minutes before he showed up. He ran a sensor around the pipes to the gas meter. The sensor didn’t detect any gas.
The inspection was going well until he took out a spray can and sprayed gray paint on about a foot of the gas pipe in my basement! Who uses spray paint indoors?
Now my house smells like fumes and it’s getting cold because I have all the doors open to let out the fumes. It’s a half hour later and it still stinks.
Spray paint was not part of our last National Grid appointment. If you have to make an appointment, either schedule it for May or later OR tell them they can’t use spray paint in your house.

The Bay Ridge R Train is a Traveling Hotel
Commuters from Bay Ridge found every train car of the R train was loaded with sleeping NY’ers keeping out of the cold this morning.
Let’s elect people who can get these NY’ers into housing. It has to be someone’s priority.

Little Athens in Bay Ridge is Dog Friendly

The Dog Friendly Club shared that Little Athens Greet Restaurant on 3rd Avenue and 78th Street in Bay Ridge allows dogs to sit with their owners inside the restaurant. I didn’t know that!

Tourists Robbed at 25th St. Station in Sunset Park

Two tourists from Sweden were robbed on Christmas Day at the 25th Street station in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. (See story)
Tourists probably think there is a chance they will get robbed in NYC.
There were probably more tourists who got robbed this year, but they didn’t report it.

Host Bay Ridge Danny at Your House for 12 Days
Danny is a snuggly lovebug kitty who is great with humans, but not great with other cats. Danny is with a foster through Itty Bitty Kitty rescue. That person is traveling for the first two weeks of January, so Danny needs a temporary home.
Danny is 1.5 years, neutered, up to date on vaccines, FIV negative and affectionate. He’s very vocal. He is very quick to adapt and wants to just crawl in your lap or on your chest and stay there for as long as you will let him. Contact Itty Bitty Kitty here.
