Fire Trucks Outside Avid Hotel This Morning
Two firetrucks were outside Avid Hotel this morning on 86th Street in Bay Ridge. Everything looked normal – no sign of a fire.
The hotel had about five guests in their lobby relaxing and eating breakfast.

The 3rd Avenue Festival is on Sunday, 10/1/23
EVERYONE IS EXCITED TO CELEBRATE THE 50TH 3RD AVENUE FESTIVAL IN BAY RIDGE!
The 3rd Avenue Festival is on Sunday, October 1, 2023 from Bay Ridge Avenue to 94th Street and Third Avenue.
The Third Avenue Festival is from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm.
Here’s who has shared bands and events at the festival so far:
1) South Brooklyn Foundry Restaurant on 3rd Avenue and 69th Street will have DJ Nene playing disco, freestyle, classic and house music. Face painting!
2) Amuni Restaurant at 7217 – 3rd Avenue has these specials from 12:00 – 6:00 pm:
3) Paul’s Italian Sausage will be across from Salty Dog Bar on 3rd Avenue and 75th Street.
4) Greenhouse Cafe on 3rd Avenue and 77th Street has The Frankie Marra Show Stage – Music all day! They have a video here.
5) Dimensions In Dance at 7603 3rd Avenue will have their dancers perform outside at 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm.
6) Fast Forward will be performing outside of The Pour House on 3rd Avenue and 79th Street starting at 1:00 pm.
7) Catnip will be performing on 3rd Avenue and 81st Street.
8) Chain Reaction goes on after Catnip on the main stage at 81st Street and 3rd Avenue
9) Get Rocker Jenn’s Candied Bacon on 3rd Avenue and 81st Street.
10) Charmed By JM at 8311 – 3rd Avenue -So Many Pretty Items – Shop!
11) Alicia Degener – an artist who creates Bay Ridge coasters that everyone loves will be at 8312 – 3rd Avenue – across the street from Charmed by JM.
12) New Consignment Shop at 8705 – 3rd Avenue. 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
13) Green Spa on 3rd Avenue and 88th Street is having mini service samplers, games and prizes!

14) Make your reservation for Cebu Restaurant on 88th Street and 3rd Avenue.
15) Outside of Chadwick’s Restaurant on 88th and 3rd Avenue will be the Bennett Brothers at 2:00 pm and Shadoobie at 4ish.
16) Panino Rustico will be open 10:00 am – 7:00 pm. 89th Street and 3rd Avenue.
17) At least seven DJ’s will be outside the Bridgeview Dinner on 3rd Avenue and 90th Street from 11:00 am – 6:00 pm playing Hustle, Disco and Freestyle Music!
18) Delia’s Lounge on 92nd Street and 3rd Avenue will have great food and music!
19) Art Shamsky from the NY Mets will be at the Third Avenue signing autographs for fans on the Avenue.

If You Need Help – St. Pats Has People to Help
St. Patrick’s Church is going to have someone from Catholic Charities helping people with food (SNAP) and other benefits (heat, etc.) TODAY, Tuesday, September 26th.
St. Pats Church is on 4th Avenue and 95th Street. This is for everyone, not just people who belong to St. Patrick’s Church.
I’ve never seen them do this, so God is sending this for someone who needs it and isn’t getting the help they need. Go get it!

Ying Tan is the Real Deal – Look What She Set Up For a Resident in Her Area!
Ying Tan is running to be the City Council representative of the new Asian District in Brooklyn – part of that District is in Dyker Heights.
Yesterday, Ying went to a senior’s home and brought them a a commode chair!!
Ying Tan shared that many seniors in the district don’t receive assistance because they don’t qualify for services, so she went there and put together the chair for the person!
Ying didn’t travel with an entourage or other politicians. She went there and completed the task to help a person in her district!
I don’t care if she is a Democrat, Republican, etc. If someone is going to help Seniors in Brooklyn FOR REAL (not for a photo), then you should hire her!
Dyker Heights – elect a woman who takes action for the community!

New Smoke Shop on 86th St. – Disposable Vape
A new smoke shop opened at 520 – 86th Street next to Hana Sushi.
They don’t have their name on the awning yet – just a small lit up sign with the words Smoke Shop.
Above the “Smoke Shop” sign is a sign for Disposable Vape.
This used to be where Gullo Associates used to be. The storefront was gutted (See here)

They wrote: “Come practice, teach, or learn how to make all kinds of products! Feel free to bring your own materials or use what we provide. This group is free and does not require a sign up.
