Four Men Robbed a Person at Knifepoint Near Xaverian High School
This morning, the Citizen app showed that a person was robbed at knifepoint outside of 15 Mackay Place in Bay Ridge – across the street from Xaverian High School around 6:00 am. (See street view)
Four men were involved in robbing one person, but only vague descriptions were provided. Maybe someone in the area caught the group on their Ring cameras?
Xaverian High School was open today – it does not close for Jewish holidays.
Senator Gounardes was on Twitter tweeting about Republicans as usual, but failed to mention this robbery. (See here)
Councilman Brannan retweeted Gounardes, but also failed to the provide the community information, even though it’s six hours after the robbery.
Social media politicians fail our community again.
No one was arrested yet.

Lolo is a Terrier mix and she is available for adoption at Sean Casey Animal Rescue.
Sean Casey Animal Rescue is at 153 East 3rd Street in Brooklyn.

Open for adoptions from 11 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.

Nightmare on 73rd Street in Bay Ridge
The NY Post wrote about the Nightmare on 73rd Street! (Story here)
Two homes on 73rd Street between Ridge Blvd and 3rd Avenue share a driveway. The Hogans live on the left and Edwin lives in the house with the arrow. Edwin is using the shared drive for exercise classes in the driveway! (Source)
The Hogans weren’t looking to be in the paper or to talk to the NY Post – they just want to be able to use their driveway! They filed a lawsuit so they can use their driveway! (See here) This should be a simple case.
Why hasn’t the * owner * of Edwin’s house helped the Hogans?
If someone wanted to workout next to Christ Church, across the street from these homes (see here), no one would notice, as long as they weren’t doing it during service times. On the corner of this street is a library with a huge sidewalk. There is also a park a few blocks away on Shore Road.
Edwin can also use the back of his driveway or the decks to the house. (See here)
Thursday, September 28th is Good Neighbor Day. If you don’t live on 73rd Street, remember to celebrate your good neighbors!

Lonestar Bar is Closing – Last Day Open 9/24
Lonestar Bar on 5th Avenue and 87th Street in Bay Ridge announced that they were closing their business.
Tomorrow, September 24th will be the last day they are open – they are having a football party.
They posted a sad goodbye note here.

Greek Festival – All Weekend in Bay Ridge!

They have indoor seating!
If you like Greek food, you will LOVE the Holy Cross Greek Festival.
It’s held at the Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church on Ridge Blvd between 85th Street and 86th Street. They 85th Street and put tables and chairs in the street so people can eat together.
It’s raining, but they deliver so the festival goes on!
The parents of the students cook, serve and sell the food, so they can raise money for the school. It’s very sweet!
What do I recommend? Their lemon potatoes are delicious. Their Spinach pies are fantastic.
Lee likes their gyro platter. (Pronounce it like hero with an Y at the beginning…..see video below)
