The Giant Santa Dyker Heights Misses This Year
Why didn’t the house with the giant Santa Claus, soldiers and moving carousel decorate this year?
The owner died in 2019. Her children decorated one more time in December 2019.

The owner’s granddaughter shared where the decorations went!
The Santa, the nutcrackers, the carosel and Toyland sign are in Glen Cove, Long Island with the son, Alfred. He shared this:

The other decorations are with the daughter in New Jersey.
Residents in Brooklyn miss the 12 foot Santa that was on 84th Street between 11th and 12th Avenues.

The beautiful six bedroom house is for sale for a little over $4,385,000. (See here)

The home’s decorations were split between the family in two homes outside of NYC.

December 5, 2020Protest in Bay Ridge – Sunday 12/6 – Bergen Place

On Sunday, December 6th at 1:00 pm there will be a protest in front of 6659 Bergen Place in Bay Ridge. (See here)

Liam McCabe, jumped in to help the neighbors at Bergen Place get help for the dogs! McCabe is a well-known animal lover and has done this before when he saw other animals weren’t being taken care of. Thank you, Liam!

Our good neighbors on Bergan Place have asked politicians and tried other way on their own to get help for the dogs in the property next to theirs.
The home is in foreclosure. See news story here. Story here
Ridgites on Bergen Place said they haven’t received any help FOR MONTHS.
Update: Some residents in the area have offered to adopt the dogs because they don’t want the dogs living in these conditions.
Please do not vote for representatives who say they are animal lovers and then don’t move until the news shines a camera on them.
Where are representatives who were supposed to help these residents?
Bergan Place is represented by:
1. Councilman Justin Brannan – he has forgotten who he represents.
Yesterday, Brannan said he is working on it when people asked him to help (people shouldn’t need to ask him – this should have been a priority)
2. Senator Andrew Gounardes – he has not mentioned the situation or taken his podium out to the area to do a press release. No updates on real situations AS USUAL. Andrew wanted the votes, but he doesn’t want to work.
3. Felix Ortiz – in the Assembly – not Malliotakis
4. Gerry Nadler – House of Representatives – not Max Rose
Meaghan McGoldrick, editor of the Brooklyn Paper is from Bay Ridge. You would think that she would be all over it. Instead press releases and commentary from local district leader, Chris McCreight ponders if Bay Ridge is Republican stronghold. WHO CARES? #Obsession
Bay Ridge is a community where people can’t get help from their local leaders. And the news won’t report the truth. Nothing has changed, regardless of what party is in office.

December 5, 2020White Van Following UPS Truck in Bay Ridge

Heads up Bay Ridge!
The Grinch is in the area and he’s stealing Christmas packages from stoops and front porches!
Our current package thieves are in a white van (newish looking). When the UPS or Fedex truck are in the area, take a look around.
This morning I saw the white van following the UPS truck. I went to get my phone and when I came back, the van took off – fast and furious.
The UPS delivery person didn’t know, so I alerted her. If you see the white van on your block, let the UPS person know.

December 5, 2020The Beat the Dead Horse Award Goes to Chris McCreight and Ed Mullins

After an election, there are always some people who keep beating the dead horse. Even if their candidate won, they just keep going on and on…
This week’s dead horse beating award goes to Chris McCreight and Ed Mullins.
Ed Mullins wrote an opt ed to question who Max Rose appealed to (See opt ed) Who cares? Nicole Malliotakis won and Mullins should be celebrating that victory….but some people don’t know how to be happy.
This week, Chris McCreight published an article in the paper where he pondered the topic of Bay Ridge being a Republican Stronghold. WHO CARES?
McCreight didn’t want to tell Bay Ridge that Andrew Gounardes and Justin Brannan took money from a developer at Angel Guardian, but he wants to hold the position District Leader.
Chris McCreight should have stepped down from his position as District Leader as he wasn’t able to do the one job of a district leader -> provide a suitable and honest candidate who isn’t in a developer’s pocket.
McCreight is Chief-of-Staff for Justin Brannan and when I tried to wrote to him about corruption, he pretended he didn’t know what I was talking about. Corruption involves a lot of players and supporters.

Most of the store is empty, but Ridgites and other C21 lovers are running in to take advantage of the last minute deals.

December 4, 2020Politicians Haven’t Helped Bay Ridge Residents on Bergen Place
Our great neighbor in Bay Ridge, Jack LaTorre has done everything he can do to help dogs at a home on his block.
LaTorre went to the news because the politicians aren’t doing anything! And he has tried a lot of ways to get the dogs help for months.
I was not a fan Sen. Golden, but the reality is Golden wouldn’t have allowed dogs to be treated like this in our neighborhood. He would have visited the home himself and got the dogs help.
The situation has existed for months! Read more about the situation here.

Next November, remember this when you vote for NYC Council.
The red tape is cut for developers and those who have money. See here
Senator Gounardes tweets, rather than taking action. We have the wrong man in office!

December 3, 2020The Conservative Party Survives, But Jerry Kassar Was Still Yammering

The Independence Party and the Green Party have been formally kicked off the NYS ballot.
Third Parties needed 130,000 votes or 2% of the votes on it’s ballot line this year. (Other years it only needed 50,000 on the ballot line).
Some believe that Cuomo changed the limits because he was attempting to kill the Working Family Party.

The political parties that deserved to be discontinued were The Working Family Party (WFP) and The Conservative Party – but those are staying on the ballot.

Remember three years ago, Jerry Kassar was involved in the “Placeholder Candidate” nonsense and Mike Long threw him under the bus for because Long did want to be blamed for those shananigans! (Info here and here)
In Bay Ridge, two years ago we saw the Working Family Party NOT support the community’s candidate, Mathylde Frontus. Rather the WFP supported an out-of-district candidate (Mark Treyger’s candidate, Ethan Lustig).
Kassar was on Channel 1 News tonight complaining even though his party is safe. He was talking about how the number of political parties in NYS has been reduced from 7 to 4.
Why does Kassar care? Because he can no longer fool voters into thinking his candidate was endorsed by Independence Party. People here confused the Independence Party with being an Independent voter.
The real loss was the Green Party. Howie Harkins from the Green Party said the Green Party was not cross endorsing and they weren’t up for sale or cutting deals.
See how politics eliminated decent people from running for office.

December 3, 2020Time Warner is Out – Spectrum is In

If you noticed your Internet was more sluggish this Fall, it’s because Spectrum took over for Time Warner.
If you do a Google Search for Time Warner, Spectrum comes up.
Joe, a Spectrum employee stopped by today and offered a lower rate. Joe is middle aged, wearing a backpack and carrying an iPad to work on. He is friendly and pleasant.
If your bill is around $200, you will now have a bill for $159.00. I didn’t think it was that great.
Why isn’t Bay Ridge receiving the three for $99 deal that Spectrum offers to new customers?

December 3, 2020Max Rose’s Farewell
Max Rose delivered his farewell today! (See here) Rose was asked by a Channel 1 reporter about running for mayor. He didn’t rule it out, but also didn’t say he was running. Rose said it was in his blood to serve.
Would Max Rose consider moving to Bay Ridge and challenging Justin Brannan for City Council?
We have a problem with lobbyist money and Rose is against lobbyist money!
Rose didn’t defund the police and didn’t allow that type of language that I was at.
Justin Brannan and NYC Council used the term: “defund the police.” (See Here)

December 3, 2020Bay Ridge Resident Can’t Get Help for Dogs

Jack LaTorre and his neighbors in Bay Ridge have been trying to get help for the dogs on his block. (Story and video here)
Jack was the head of the Bay Ridge Historical Society, so you would think Andrew Gounardes would help him. Yet, the article says politicians haven’t helped!
I’m glad I live in a community where people like Jack love animals and will be so persistent to get them help!
BTW, I don’t know Jack personally, but my brother, Phil did and I heard stories about Jack.
