Max Rose’s Farewell

Max Rose delivered his farewell today! (See here) Rose was asked by a Channel 1 reporter about running for mayor. He didn’t rule it out, but also didn’t say he was running. Rose said it was in his blood to serve.

Would Max Rose consider moving to Bay Ridge and challenging Justin Brannan for City Council?

We have a problem with lobbyist money and Rose is against lobbyist money!

Rose didn’t defund the police and didn’t allow that type of language that I was at.

Justin Brannan and NYC Council used the term: “defund the police.” (See Here)

Hugs,
marlene

That isn’t at all accurate. The vote in June to quote-unquote “defund the police” caused “the transfer of school safety agents to the Department of Education from the Police Department amount[ing] to a $400 million shift of police resources. The Department of Education already funds the school safety program, sending some $300 million a year to the Police Department, according to New York City’s Independent Budget Office. The move simply means that the Department of Education will now operate a program it had already been underwriting.” https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/30/nyregion/nypd-budget.html

I would love the NYPD to be defunded by that amount but that isn’t an accurate statement.

Follow Brannan’s Twitter and you will see some interesting posts from Brannan. This one was unique: https://queenoftheclick.com/justin-brannan-wants-to-defund-the-police/

THE TWEET WAS DELETED BECAUSE IT WAS WRONG.

The language used was derogatory and not what a city which has some crime issues should have considered appropriate. Whether the slogan is “Defund the Police” or “defund _________________(anything), it’s mean to be demeaning.

I’m aware of what happened with the bill and I’ve written about school safety before and after the NYPD. It’s must better under the NYPD. In some areas that situation is not working – then the city should change it in those areas.

“Defund the Police” didn’t help anyone in NYC.
