Protest in Bay Ridge – Sunday 12/6 – Bergen Place

On Sunday, December 6th at 1:00 pm there will be a protest in front of 6659 Bergen Place in Bay Ridge. (See here)

Liam McCabe, jumped in to help the neighbors at Bergen Place get help for the dogs! McCabe is a well-known animal lover and has done this before when he saw other animals weren’t being taken care of. Thank you, Liam!

Our good neighbors on Bergan Place have asked politicians and tried other way on their own to get help for the dogs in the property next to theirs.
The home is in foreclosure. See news story here. Story here
Ridgites on Bergen Place said they haven’t received any help FOR MONTHS.
Update: Some residents in the area have offered to adopt the dogs because they don’t want the dogs living in these conditions.
Please do not vote for representatives who say they are animal lovers and then don’t move until the news shines a camera on them.
Where are representatives who were supposed to help these residents?
Bergan Place is represented by:
1. Councilman Justin Brannan – he has forgotten who he represents.
Yesterday, Brannan said he is working on it when people asked him to help (people shouldn’t need to ask him – this should have been a priority)
2. Senator Andrew Gounardes – he has not mentioned the situation or taken his podium out to the area to do a press release. No updates on real situations AS USUAL. Andrew wanted the votes, but he doesn’t want to work.
3. Felix Ortiz – in the Assembly – not Malliotakis
4. Gerry Nadler – House of Representatives – not Max Rose
Meaghan McGoldrick, editor of the Brooklyn Paper is from Bay Ridge. You would think that she would be all over it. Instead press releases and commentary from local district leader, Chris McCreight ponders if Bay Ridge is Republican stronghold. WHO CARES? #Obsession
Bay Ridge is a community where people can’t get help from their local leaders. And the news won’t report the truth. Nothing has changed, regardless of what party is in office.

Thank you for sharing this. Hopefully with enough attention we will get something done and these dogs adopted into loving homes. Some of the neighbors have already pledged to adopt some of the dogs if they can get out of there. The neighbors are really invested and really just want to help.

I just posted about this on the Next Door app. There was a thread started on this house of horrors. I left a link for your site for people to learn more. ~Anita~

Thank you for sharing that news that the neighbors are interested in adopting some of the dogs!
I couldn’t imagine living next to this place and hearing the dogs crying, especially on cold rainy days like this.
