November 3, 2021Steve Saperstein – 3rd Time Isn’t a Charm with Andrew Gounardes’ Backing

If you have your heart on City Council and it isn’t working out, maybe the world has other plans for you.

Saperstein didn’t even get 40% of the vote yesterday. The news kept saying that this election was close.
Three years ago, Steve Saperstein ran against Mathylde Frontus for the NY Assembly seat.

Back during that election, Saperstein was a Republican and stood with Golden during the election between Gounardes and Golden. (See photo here)
Saperstein become a Democrat (see here) and faced Inna Vernikov in the election yesterday.

Old flyer
Andrew Gounardes tweeted for Saperstein: “Let’s get Steve Saperstein in City Council.” Didn’t he remember when Saperstein was with Golden?

Gounardes didn’t say a word when Councilman Brannan was awarded 16 tickets, so why would he be concerned with Inna’s driving and not Brannan’s? (See here)
Saperstein also ran for City Council in 2017.

November 2, 2021Brooklyn, Who Needs These New Pedestrian Bridges?

When I saw this project, I thought it was a joke. This project was planned for 92nd Street, but there wasn’t enough funding. Original plans: see here and here.
Community Board 11’s Meeting revealed there was not enough funding for this pedestrian overpass (thank goodness).

They slowed the speed limit down on the Belt to 40 going to exit 5. Why?
BUT THERE ARE TWO PEDESTRIAN OVERPASSES COMING – JUST NOT THE 92ND ONE.
CB 11 discussed these in their meeting.

The original design (above) has been changed to a flatter ADA-compliant design. (below)

No one wants the Belt Parkway closed for this project.

November 2, 2021Milano Market Opened in Bay Ridge

Milano Market is opened on November 2nd at 7801 – 3rd Avenue. It is next door to Come on Thai Restauant.
They sell soups, salads, sandwiches, wraps, entrees, desserts and gift baskets. They also do catering. See menu here

We stopped in to grab dinner and the place was very busy.

We grabbed a yellow split pea soup – it was delicious. $7.00 for a small soup.

We ordered a Milano special sandwich – it was a large and well-stacked sandwich!

They had six people working there and the place was very busy.

Everything looked beautiful in Milano Market.

Congratulations to the owners. We were happy to hear that they grew up in Bay Ridge.

You can tell how invested a new business is by the ceiling and fixtures – theirs are beautiful!

Go get a sandwich, Bay Ridge – you will keep go back once you try it!

They have another store in Manhattan – See Instagram photos

This storefront used to be 3rd Avenue dry cleaner and shoe repair, which closed in August. (See here)
