October 2, 2021Why Would Max Rose is Supporting Justin Brannan?

We noticed a lot of people were not at Justin Brannan’s campaign office opening on 95th Street and 3rd Avenue, but Max Rose was there.
Max Rose did not defund the police. In community meetings where he was pressed to defund the police, Rose did not engage in that type of discussion. I was present for an online meeting where the Muslim community wanted Rose to defund – he did not bend.
Max Rose KNOWS that Councilman Justin Brannan engaged in conversation online that was inappropriate towards the NYPD. In June 2020, Brannan chose to play politics, rather than to change the dialog. (See here)
Max Rose should not supporting Brannan’s campaign if he wants to run for office in this community.

October 2, 2021Bay Ridge Jewelry Store Was Robbed Twice in 4 Months

Jamie DeJesus, journalist for the Brooklyn Reporter, wrote that there was a robbery at a jewelry store on 86th Street and 4th Avenue on September 17th. (See here)
A man stole $15,000 of merchandise at 4:50 pm in the afternoon!
DeJesus did not name Malson’s Jewelry Store, but he showed an old photo of it in his article.
In May, the same reporter wrote about $45,000 being taken from a jewelry store on 86th Street and again showed Malson’s Jewelry Store. (See here) DeJesus didn’t reference the prior robbery.

The owner is out $60,000 in merchandise! No one spoke out for this business owner, who has been in our community for many years.

October 2, 2021Little Free Art Studio & Gallery in Bay Ridge

Ellen from Printspace at 502 Senator Street opened a Little Free Art Studio and Gallery (it’s off 5th Avenue) in Bay Ridge! That’s cool and very sweet!

Photo shared by Rana from Bay Ridge Rocks
How does it work? It’s a way to share your unused art and supplies with other people in the community.

Let’s say you have a picture you no longer want (it’s the wrong aesthetic for your home and you want it out), just put it on the shelf and it maybe someone else’s treasure.

The top shelf is for art supplies and art books that you no longer need – paint, glitter, brushes, etc. (This is for for acrylics, watercolors and art project paint – not house paint.)

Want to see what was left in the Little Free Art Studio and Gallery — check out their Instagram here.
Some artists like to make art and give it to others who would like it, so this would be the perfect place to put it. Bay Ridge Rocks may share some of their pieces here too.
If you haven’t been to Printspace – check out their website, each month there are fun on the first Friday.
