BRDC’s Iftar With Rapper – Two Advertisements

Bay Ridge Community Development Center is having an Iftar with a Syrian-American hip hop artist, Omar Offendum. They shared the above flyer.
Interestingly, the rest of the world sees this advertisement:

Why did they create two different ads for the Iftar?
It’s $50 for adults and $40 for children. Tickets here

April 14, 2023RIP Jason Gans – Only 21 Years Old

This afternoon, a motorcycle and SUV had a serious accident outside 800 Poly Place. (Info here and here)

Jason Gans, the 21-year-old man on the motorcycle, hit the back of a vehicle making a U-turn.
Jason was brought to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, where he died of his injuries.
Jason was going to be a new father as his girlfriend was pregnant. (See here)
A Go Fund Me was set up to defray the cost of his funeral. (See here)

The 54-year-old driver of the Chevrolet HHR stayed on the scene and was not charged. HOW WAS HE NOT CHARGED? There is a double solid line on that street. The driver should have at least gotten a summons for an illegal U-turn!
Motorcyclists need to organize because the driver should have been charged.
Update 4/15: This afternoon there were prayers on Poly Place for Jason.
Jason Gans lived in Bergen Beach.
RIP Jason. Gone way too soon. Prayers for his family, his girlfriend and friends.
Councilman Brannan should have mentioned this to the community. This is the road that was gerrymandered out of our City Council district, but those changes have not taken place yet.
Gounardes no longer represents the area around 800 Poly Place. Senator Jessica Scarcella-Spanton’s lives in Staten Island and doesn’t even know this accident occurred – even more than 24-hours later! No one is representing the area because it is all divided up to benefit the politicians – not the neighborhood.
