Bay Ridge is Alive Again….Few Masks Worn
It’s great to see Bay Ridge alive and businesses doing well…..but it doesn’t look like people are taking the precautions needed.
Remember being 23 and being invincible?
Mostly that is who is out and about. It’s been three months without socializing and people are in need of human interaction….and for this age group – dating.
A lot of complaints were made to 311 about Bay Ridge businesses. See here Ariel from Mayor de Blasio’s office was in Bay Ridge last night – she wasn’t social distancing, but maybe she was reporting places. See here
Let’s hope what happened in Florida and some of the southern states doesn’t happen here.

June 26, 2020NYC Office of Nightlight Doesn’t Social Distance
View this post on Instagram
For most people, social distancing means standing 6 feet away from anyone you aren’t in quarantine with.
It doesn’t mean that you can put on a mask and hug or take selfies. I haven’t seen any changes in social distancing protocols, have you?
Ariel Palitz from the mayor’s office came out. She’s in charge of nightlight. This graphic is coming from her office:
I would think she would be the queen of social distancing. Why would she be interested in taking selfies with politicians?
See more of her pics here
It seems like the people who should be teaching about social distancing don’t understand it.
Ariel Palitz also shared this picture of the Mayor, his wife and other politicians/city employees being wayyyy to close…..hugging?

Why wouldn’t one of them speak up and say, “Heyyyyy we are way to close.”

Although the original purpose of the tweet was to talk about some people not wearing masks, if you notice, many people are wearing masks.
And the store is limiting the number of shoppers so that is good!

June 25, 2020Smoking Sign Appeared on Bay Ridge Corner
![]()
It’s the era of the corner signs now.
This time the war is on smokers.
I don’t smoke, so I understand why they are complaining, but the solution is easy. There are four corners – go stand on another corner if the smoke bothers you. Or go to another Avenue – problem solved.
We have bigger issues than smoke right now Karen.

The Republicans handed Rose this election.
Malliotakis has not been a favorite in her own party. (See here) How is Malliotakis going to beat a well-liked Congressman? Malliotakis couldn’t beat a widely disliked mayor.

Two years ago, Rose had a real election against Dan Donovan. Donovan was a party favorite, but there were Republicans who found Rose’s military background appealing.
Max Rose is a good Congressman – he plans for the future (which is rare among politicians).
