The Common in Bay Ridge – 3rd Avenue

The Common at 9406 – 3rd Avenue is doing a great job with outdoor dining and social distancing.

They have seats under an awning and in the sun too.  See menu.

Their food is fresh and delicious. The chef will take requests and understands allergies. Great place!

Will Bay Ridge Get Another Tax Bill This Year?

When I read this, I knew I had to share it:

Apparently, this year home owners were supposed to be taxed at the rate from last year. But we received another increase. How about you?

The article says we will be receiving another bill THIS YEAR.   See the article  here     Last year we received an additional property tax bill after we paid the tax.

Today Justin Brannan tweeted this to me to tell me there is a $300 savings in property taxes.

I could understand if this tax break like this was given to seniors. Everyone could understand that. But it’s not going to help a community which is being overtaxed.

This tax break is for everyone, so Park Slope home owners will get another break which is ridiculous.

Day of Rage in Bay Ridge – July 1st

I saw the sign for the Day of Rage, but I didn’t see information about the event.

Who was raging and what are they raging about?

The Palestians are having this day due to Al-Nakba.  Al-Nakba happened in 1948 when 750,000 Arabs were were forced out of their home and Israel took 78% of Palestine.

Al Nakba means “the catastrophe.”

They  had this protest-type rally last year too, but it was held in May – when the Jewish people celebrate Independence Day. They should put that on their flyers so that the neighborhood understand what the rage is over.

This year it seems their rage became more about white supremacy.

I’m impressed with the professionalism of the  68th Precinct police at these  protests. They give everyone room to protest.

Now why did these people show up?  Seriously, this is not nice. Why would they waste their time coming to another group’s event. And the Trump banner is just inappropriate.

This outspoken guy was blurred out, but I am not sure why? I don’t think I have ever seen a video on social media blurred like that.

The people walked from Bay Ridge, through Sunset Park and Greenwood Cemetery.

Black Lives Matter became the chant.

Free Free Palestine – End White Supremacy – Free Free Palestine.

At the rally, they gave the microphone to a man who commented that he liked to see cop cars burning. This makes me sad.

And this is completely unacceptable:

On Twitter, I saw  that they want to annex more land.

Pegasus Has Outdoor Dining

Bay Ridge business owners are really working hard to make attractive and sanitary outdoor areas.

Pegasus Diner at  8610 3rd Avenue  looks amazing!   I love their flower boxes!
