July 3, 2020Did a Man Say “Death to America” in Bay Ridge?
We’ve never seen anyone speak like this.
OMG ?? why are you here if you hate America?? @NYPD68Pct @FBI @NewYorkFBI @CIA @DHSgov This would not happen under Senator Golden’s watch! But under @JustinBrannan @Sen_Gounardes anything is possible! pic.twitter.com/kGiUJGuNSS
— Marko Kepi (@MarkoKepi) July 3, 2020
You can also see the video here: pic.twitter.com/kGiUJGuNSS
I don’t speak Arabic, so I am not sure what this man said. If he is saying death to America, that is not okay.
This video was filmed on 5th Avenue in Bay Ridge (near 71st Street) during The Palestinian “Day of Rage” on July 1st – see more here.
It appears to be outside of Al-Noor (see the 99 cents store and the closed grocery store further down. Why did Al-Noor allow this man to do that?
Most alarming is that people repeated his chant. Everyone understands why they said that about Israel, but America???
There were forty grassroots organizations at this event (info here).

July 3, 2020Why Doesn’t Jaime deJesus Want Parents to Know?
Home Reporter journalist, Jaime Dejesus wrote about Justin Brannan introducing a bill to bring more art classes to NYC. Everyone in this city recognizes that we are in a pandemic and there isn’t extra money now.
Other reporters shared that the budge sadly slashed 182 Million dollars from the NYC Department of Education budget. (See what was cut here)
Why wouldn’t this reporter want Bay Ridge to know about the budget? Last year, there was a large article in the paper about the budget and the councilman broke it down. See here
I looked at the budget and didn’t see anywhere where money was set aside fund that program. See here
Why didn’t Jaime Dejesus tell us about the budget? Story here.

DeJesus missed this story here.

Yes, I wrote to the editor of the paper, Helen Klein YESTERDAY….yes, before today’s story came out! I knew that a alternate story was coming in the Home Reporter and Bay Ridge won’t get the real news.

Helen Klein won’t write back – she never does. If she happens to this time, I will share it here.

July 3, 2020The Left Promised Brannan a Challenger in 2021
Years ago, I used to call Councilman Vincent Gentile’s office and ask his staffers how Vinnie was voting on an issue in City Council. Gentile was consistent for the community. Vinnie never changed his vote from what I was told over the phone.
Last week, Councilman Justin Brannan responded on social media,”Ya I’m In” when someone asked if he was going to defund the NYPD. (See here) We were shocked!

Local Muslim groups called for the police to be defunded (this is understandable because the police had done surveillance on some people in the community).
DSNY, the Democratic Socialist Group were excited to hear that Brannan had committed to defunding the NYPD by one billion dollars. DSNY added his name to their spreadsheet (choose Tracker Version 5.0 to see the sheet) for #NoBillionNoBudget.
On Tuesday night, people heard about problems with the budget. Some politicians came out and said that if budget does not slash a billion dollars, they would be voting no. When interviewed, Corey Johnson admitted that it was nowhere near a billion dollars being cut.
Socialists in Bay Ridge reminded Councilman Brannan about his No vote. They went to his house and he wasn’t there. Then they went to his office. The lights were on in the back, but Brannan did not answer the dozen people. They put up signs and decorated the cement with chalk to remind Brannan to vote NO and they cover the windows with paper. These aren’t people who were acting callously. They are well-educated Ridgites who wanted Brannan to keep his word to them. See pictures here
Another pic here
On Twitter someone wrote this to Councilman Brannan:
A pizza man came and tried to deliver a pizza to Brannan’s office, but no one answered the door.
The protesters shared pictures on Facebook.
Slightly funny was this screenshot of their text messages:
If you remember……Justin Brannan used to call the old senator out for running from protesters (and calling the police on them too).
Now here is the part which made this story newsworthy! The police came to speak to the protesters while they were outside Brannan’s office. Brannan claimed he didn’t call the police on them.
Brannan’s office is shared with Max Rose. Hundred of people have protested outside of that office and no one called the police on them. See photo It’s strange that several police cars went to the Councilman’s office for a small group. The person inside the office must have really wanted that pizza delivery (as the clever protested noted).
The protesters shared pictures of the 68th Precinct officers standing in front the office on social media. See here

Yalla wrote this:
*FBBR and others said that Brannan will face a challenger in 2021. The following day Brannan was very quiet on social media because people from both sides were upset.
Errol Lewis wrote about many politicians receiving a home visits from socialists, but that their influence didn’t change the votes. See here Lewis didn’t mention that Brannan had protesters.
Politico wrote that NYC Security Officers will remain under the NYPD. Why didn’t Councilmen like Justin Brannan share this? See here

I was surprised Brannan didn’t acknowledge the protesters outside of his office. When I shared a tweet, Brannan responded and said the pizza wasn’t his – LOL. (See here)

July 2, 2020Protesters Went to Justin Brannan’s Office
View this post on Instagram
Councilman Justin Brannan wrote that he was voting for this budget. The budget was supposed to defund the NYPD by one billion on Twitter. His tweet was deleted, but you can see it here.
His base checked in with him on Twitter and were surprised that he had changed his vote. Some people were mad and went to his office with signs.
