Do you think Zellnor Myrie and Julia Salazar will tell people that Andrew Gounardes accepted money from developers?
I don’t think so. Jounalist, Ariama Long, wrote this article about Andrew Gounardes accepting money from a developer. Long linked to the NYS records for the money (See here)
But that would be important to people like you and me who are represented by Gounardes.
The Democrats just want more democrats so they will be able to override Andrew Cuomo.
I remember a time when 86th Street in Bensonhurst was lined with people sitting in chairs in the street. On the weekend, old and new cars were cruise up and around the street. People (mostly guidos) were talking loud, cheering, smoking and dancing to music (house or disco) in the middle of the two-way traffic.
When I returned a few years later, (when I could drive), that tradition had ended.
Normally, the rest of the council follows the lead of the local council member. As predicted though, city council members are trying to override Menchaca because some have deals. How do I know? I can see them in the lobbyist database! They think everyone is stupid and doesn’t know what they are doing.

The new Assemblywoman, Marcela Mitaynes is from Sunset Park. She has seen the area take a beaten from developers. She called the nonsense here.
Everything is about an override and who has power.
WHY? Lobbyists have control and are pushing this. See the total expenses for the lobbyists – $345,000. And see whose a target of Industry City.
Without looking, what councilman do you think is on the lobbyist database for this?
When you see a councilman from Queens and another from the Bronx writing letters, you know they are owned!
Industry City wants to add 900,000 square feet of hotels and stores.
Does Sunset Park need hotels? No. It needs affordable housing and senior housing. This plan has no housing.
Many feel that Industry City expanding will gentrify the area. SO IF YOU ARE FREE – PLEASE LOG IN AND SPEAK UP (RESPECTFULLY) FOR BROOKLYN. I know you probably want to go all Brooklyn on them, but hold back a little and tell them that plans were made for high quality jobs and Sunset Park deserves a chance.
While people will say that this project will bring job, it won’t bring quality jobs. Adults aren’t going to work in a shop for long because there is no upward mobility.
In Bay Ridge, we have a lot of empty stores – Industry City expanding will hurt Bay Ridge more as well.
The Fiorito Brothers have been doing the Blankets for Hope Project for several years. (See here) Nick and Mike have been raising the bar every year to get more blankets to more homeless people across the country. Last year, their goal was to give away 10,000 blankets. (See here) Their organization’s motto is: “Give a blanket, change the world.”
They started a few years ago by fundraising and then distributing new blankets to people in need. Then their project grew and many groups joined them. The brothers are full of life and joy. In a podcast, they stated that the secret to living is giving! See here
Lays Potato Chips teamed up with these Bay Ridge Brothers to help celebrate smiles across America as part of the #SmilewithLays campaign!
Their smiles and the Blanket of Hope story will be featured on five flavors and available in stores nationwide.
Make sure to grab a bag next time you’re out shopping so you can help them spread more smiles across the country!
It is amazing that the work of these two men are being supported by Lays! And the chip bags are fun!
Peter Orlowski’s and his family lived in one of the homes on 74th Street between 12th and 13th Avenue, that were destroyed in yesterday’s fire. (Story here)
Orlowski is a firefighter, but he wasn’t on duty, so he didn’t have his gear.
That didn’t matter to Peter – he ran into his neighbor’s house and carried her out to safety.
LoudLabs NYC captured Peter carrying his neighbor out. The picture was on the GoFundMe for the Orlowski family who lost everything in the Dyker Heights fire. (See here)
A group of people showed up at Councilman Justin Brannan’s office on Sunday, September 13th. They were associating the recent murders in and around the area to the Defunding.
Strangely, a police car showed up at the office while these people were protesting Brannan.
Last time Brannan had protesters, the police was called and a the delivery of a pizza was attempted.
A few months ago, Bay Ridge Councilman Justin Brannan voted in favor of “defunding the police.”
The term defunding should have never been used by NYC Council. Here’s how Brannan responded to someone asking him about the defunding: See here
Brannan had the ability to change the language that NYC Council used, but he didn’t.
We have a new Captain and Brannan should have changed the language for him and the police officers in the area.
