Covid end soon so this store owner can sell thousands of dresses (Can you imagine how many weddings there are going to be in 2022?)

Fundraiser for Juan Rivera, Well-Loved Boxing Coach from NYSC

On Sunday, January 31st, there will be an all day virtual wellness event from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. The proceeds will go to Juan Riveria’s family.

Juan Riveria was the well-loved boxing coach and personal trainer at New York Sports Club.

Juan died from leukemia. This fundraiser is being hosted by his friends! You can tell he was a good person because so many are coming together to honor his memory!

RIP Juan.

CK Orange Commercial Being Filmed in Bay Ridge

On Tuesday, January 26, 2021 a commercial for “CK ORANGE” is scheduled to film at 6738 – 6th Avenue in Bay Ridge.

Models will be filmed and photographed inside residence.

On Wednesday, January 27th, CK Orange will film there again and at 185 -82nd Street.

CB 10 Meeting Discussed Problems at Hotels

Doris on Community Board 10 was speaking about hotels that have been added to commercial areas of a neighborhood.

One of the things Doris spoke about tonight was that some of these hotels are allowing human trafficking. A search in Google finds this is happening. In the Bronx, the Bloods were using the hotels for human trafficking. (See story)

The Department of City Planning is working on an amendment for hotels.

In 2018, Community Board 10 expressed that they believed all hotels and motels should be open for public comment in commercial zones because housing is in close proximity.

Josephine read a statement tonight from Justin Brannan.

Last month, Brannan was at the CB 10 Meeting and he was helping the developer of the hotel that is being built in Bay Ridge. Why didn’t Brannan tell CB 10 about the the human trafficking problem back then?

CB10 Talked About How Dyker Lights Went This Year

At the Community Board Meeting 10 today, Josephine talked about how Dyker Heights residents saw increased traffic in their area during Dyker Lights. Residents called in complaints.

Six police officers were put in the area during the Christmas season.

“Rented” Signs Bring Hope to Bay Ridge

This is 8121 – 3rd Avenue. It used to be a The Stretch Joint.

8515 – 4th Avenue was also rented. It used to be Dolphin Fitness, so hopefully something good is coming here!

The RENTED signs from Jabour Realty are good signs!

During the pandemic, many people had time to plan their next business venture. Hopefully that will bring more new entrepreneurs to our area soon!
