Tannousis Wants Governor Cuomo to Be Held Accountable
Michael Tannousis, representing Bay Ridge and Staten Island in the New York Assembly wants Andrew Cuomo to be held accountable for submitting fraudulent records. (Story here)

Democratic politicians, like Senator Andrew Gounades took weeks to react to Leticia James’ report from January 28th – See here.
On February 11th, Cuomo’s staffer, Melissa DeRosa, admitted that Andrew Cuomo purposely reported a lower amount of deaths to avoid a federal audit. (See here)
When it became publicly known because journalist shared the story, a few Senators realized they had to say something on February 12th.
Gounardes flapped their feathers a bit and have since gone silent. Why did Andrew Gounardes two weeks to respond to Leticia James’ findings? This is why people question if Gounardes lives here!
When Cuomo went after Ron Kim, Gounardes did not show any support for Kim. (See here). The whole Assembly and Senate should have rallied.
Ron Kim wants to impeach Cuomo. (See here) Michael Tannousis said that he could work with Ron Kim in the Assembly, but the reality is the Democratic majority leaders of both the Senate and House need to pursue this.

60 Year Old Gravesend Women Robbed at 6:30 pm on Sunday Night
A 60 year old Gravesend woman was robbed why using the MetroCard machine at the 86th Street train station in Gravesend around 6:30 pm Sunday. Story Here
Watch the video – if you have a strong stomach….it’s awful. She didn’t want to give up her purse, so the robber dragged her. (See here)
Not one politician has spoken about this all week! Not one politician has spoken up about the violence women – particularly older women – have been experiencing in Brooklyn.

Law and Order is being filmed on February 25th and 26th in Coney Island. They are set up at West 35th and and Neptune – Near P.S. 188
The Wonderwheel and some rides were lit up so they could film on Surf and West 12th Street.
Merloni also shot some scenes in Brooklyn a few weeks ago.

Urban Modesty Opens on 5th Avenue in Bay Ridge
Urban Modesty is opening at 7712 – 5th Avenue in Bay Ridge. (Website)
I know many women in Bay Ridge are going to be very happy to see a store that sells stylish abayas, maxi dresses and gowns. Urban Modesty is also sold at Macys. (See here)
In 2017, I read about Sherihan, a Bay Ridge fashion designer. (See here) I remember thinking that Urban Modesty was going to become very well known because the website showed beautiful beautiful fabrics and tailored (but modest) clothing.
Congratulations Sherihan! I hope your store is packed with fashionistas! Sherihan is also the mother of six small children. Opening a business during a pandemic with six small children is not an easy!

Justin Brannan and Joe Borelli – All the Times These Two Men Fooled People Into Thinking They Were Doing Something About High Property Taxes
Justin Brannan is home with Covid-19, but the politician continues to write articles pretending to care about the disproportionate property taxes in NYC.
Year after year, Justin Brannan failed to do anything to change the property system because he thinks writing articles in newspapers will fool Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights residents.

This week….another nonsense Op-Ed from two politicians who failed their communities. (See here) Brannan and Borelli must think Op-Ed means their opportunity to fool you!
August 2020 – Brannan and Borelli put together this word soup in The Daily News. Neither politician took action to get property tax reform before the new bills were released.
July 2020 – Justin Brannan boasted that he and NYC Council lowered our property taxes by $300. Bay Ridge’s property taxes increased AGAIN. (See here)
March 2020 – Brannan published a press release about property taxes, even though he didn’t do anything. (See here)
February 2020 – Brannan and Borelli wrote an article about freezing taxes. They didn’t do anything to freeze the tax besides writing the article. (See here)
January 2020- Brannan praised the property tax commission (See here) EVEN THOUGH THEY RETURNED AN INCOMPLETE REPORT. A new property tax rate was not provides. (Gounardes didn’t do anything when this happened, even though he said he was waiting for de Blasio)
December 2019:
a) The Property Tax Commission didn’t produce a report more than a year and a half after they formed the Property Tax Commission. (See here) Borelli and Brannan did nothing.
b) Brannan and Mayor de Blasio were seen at Tanoreen. By this time Justin Brannan knew property tax reform was not coming. (See here)
c) Brannan and Borelli penned a nonsense article about their dead bill from 2018. The bill went nowhere because it was so flawed. Howard Husock, a policy reform expert wrote an article countering their bill because it would hurt long-time property owners in NYC. (See here) Borelli acknowledged Husock’s article and couldn’t talk his way out of the stupid bill the politicians proposed. (See here) #Pathetic
July 2019 – Borelli fills in for a local radio show host. Brannan appears on the talk show and both talk about The Property Tax Commission that didn’t do anything. (See here)
June 2019 – More than a year after the Property Tax Commission was formed, no one followed up on it. Brannan and Borelli stand outside and have their picture taken. They didn’t invite anyone to this presser. (See here) They also sent out a letter which didn’t receive a reply. (See here)
January 2019 – Brannan told constituents he would help them understand their property tax bill. Nonsense article. (See here)
May 2018 – Justin Brannan recommended the property tax commission.
We believe the commission was formed to buy time instead of reforming the system.
In January 2018, Brannan started work as our Councilman. He put this bill in the first month he was in office. Is that what you elected him to do?
