Ramadan Lights in Bay Ridge

Press play on the video above – the lights look beautiful and I love the music she put with it!

I also love Balady and that they put their store name on it. It’s very sincere.

At Christmas time, the stores on 3rd Avenue the stores that want to do that, should do that for the holiday.

What No One Is Telling Us Important Information About the Property Community Board 10 Discussed Tonight?

In 2019, we learned from journalist, Meg McGoldrick what happened in the Nathan’s deal. (See here)

Many people in Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights became leery of buildings being purchased by the city for double the price, as McGoldrick described. (See here)

Now the community is getting another school on ANOTHER busy avenue.

Why does Acris show us that the owner of Nathan’s is also the owner of that location, 8802 – 5th Avenue. (His name is on page 24 of this doc)

Does anyone think this is a coincidence?

Why did Councilman Brannan, this reporter (from Bklyner) and Community Board 10 leave out that information?

Tonight I am very disappointed in Community Board 10.

That information should have been shared before the vote and with the community. I think the vote should be voided because of what we see in the video.

In December 2020, a woman spoke at the Community Board 10 about putting her new business at 8802 – 5th Avenue. She planned to open A Learning Tree Pre-K center. (See here)

Then poof….she and her dream are just gone! And Community Board 10 didn’t mention it tonight even though this is the SAME PROPERTY.

Thank you to Ann F. from CB10. Ann tried to represent Bay Ridge. She threaded cautiously and tried to slow things down. Ann asked for them to check and use existing schools. Ann knows Bay Ridge. Thank you to Barbara G. who pointed out the other elementary schools which are VERY close in this vicinity.

But something VERY weird happened at 18:57 on the video. This isn’t about schools – it’s about politics.

At 18:57, Barbara talked about the Learning Tree school that was going to be built. She incorrectly referred to it opening across the street from this location (the Post Office is across the street from this location). NOW HERE’S WHERE THE WEIRD PART COMES. The male CB 10 representative on the video doesn’t correct her…nor does anyone else on CB10. Why? Don’t they know they are talking about the same property?

I don’t know anyone in this video, if you do, please CALL THEM UP. Ask them if they knew.

Call Community Board 10 718-745-6827. Ask them why families don’t deserve a better location for a school. Ask them if they knew this was the same owner as Nathan’s.

If all the members of this small team didn’t have the correct information, they should be able to call for an immediate re-vote on this.

The committee had a presentation that failed to show the property and include the past information from their meeting about The Learning Tree School. It’s clear some don’t have the background information they needed to make a decision for Bay Ridge.

And this shows we need a a new NYC Council representative….enough is enough. Brannan’s quote to Bklyner about the developer shows he thinks the people in Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights are stupid.

The developer is doing the right thing for his business and there is nothing wrong with that – for him.

For our community – we need to do the right thing for Bay Ridge and provide families with a great location for a school – not one chosen like this. Community Board 10 needs to provide CB10 members with all of the information so they can make the best decision for Bay Ridge.

We all know #SomethingIsntRightHere

Irish Music on Shore Road Tonight at 5:30 pm

The Brooklyn Bards will be at the gazebo on Shore Rd between 89th and 90 Streets in Bay Ridge for an outdoor concert between 5:30 – 7:30 pm.

I ran into them by accident while I was walking Reggie and I found their music to be so uplifting.

If the gazebo is in use, they will move to another spot and post on their page.

Please wear a mask, follow social distancing rules and don’t pretend this isn’t a pandemic when people are still dying from this.

Steve Saperstein – Is he Playing Imposter and Trying to Fool Brooklyn?

A popular game that kids play today is called Among Us. There’s a bootleg version of the game called Imposter.

The game involves one imposter saboteur rigging the game while nine others try to play and win. Steve Saperstein in the Imposter in this years election.

Steve Saperstein has run twice as a Republican. (See here) Steve Saperstein has also lost two elections. (See here)

He didn’t even come close to winning in either election!

In one election, he played very dirty and tried to smear a good politician, Mathylde Frontus. Meanwhile, Saperstein accepted money from a developer for his election. The truth came out in a debate because the debate moderator was watching out for our community!

Mathylde Frontus is classy and doesn’t even use the media to promote herself, so she isn’t going to sound the alarm.

During Saperstein’s last election, he was often seen with Republicans and often criticizing Democrats. Saperstein was at political parties with Marty Golden and Nicole Malliotakis, each who vouched for him as a Republican.

Now Saperstein is running for City Council on the other side of Brooklyn. Why aren’t the Democrats, who play on social media and call out Trump sounding the alarm?

Why aren’t the Democrat District Leaders speaking out against Saperstein?

Why isn’t Eric Adams, Andrew Gounardes, Justin Brannan or Mark Treyger sounding the alarm to let people know what is going on? These politicians love to sit on Twitter and call the newspaper for any little thing. Why are they silent now as a Republican runs as a Democrat? LOL

#SomethingJustIsntRightHere Oh and if Steve Saperstein ever reads this….Steve, you were downright ugly in the election toward Mathylde Frontus. As the father of two girls, you should have known better….and if you didn’t, your wife should have told you!

How Did Seniors in Bay Ridge Not Get a Covid Vaccine Site – Terrible Pols Don’t Stand Up!

Politicians posted the above flyer and didn’t bother thinking about what they were posting.

The closest location for Seniors in our area to walk in without an appointment is Grand Army Plaza. This is good if the person drives.

If a senior citizen doesn’t drive, then they put themselves at risk for taking public transportation to Grand Army Plaza. Politicians should be checking this and not just posting the flyer on social media without thinking!

If Bay Ridge is a KNOWN NORC area, why didn’t politicians speak up for our seniors? (NORC = Naturally Occurring Retirement Community)

When masks were given out initially last year, Dyker Heights was also one of the last communities that the city gave them out to.

There should be several drugstores in the area which take the seniors without an appointment (or make a list to call them when they have spare vaccines that need to be used). Many seniors don’t have internet access.

Two weeks ago, we walked a senior ask the people in the back of Walgreens to make her an appointment. They told her to call the number. She did and there were no appointments.

NY Politicians Are So Out of Touch

Linda Rosenthal posted the above picture. She said the budget is done (they raised taxes on NY’ers) and she’s eating ice cream with the Assembly.

Assemblywoman Mathylde Frontus should be standing up for our community, but she isn’t.

No one cares if it is a tradition – don’t post a picture that you are celebrating when you raised taxes on people who shouldn’t have their taxes raised.
