The Bookmark Shoppe is still delivering books around the neighborhood, so if you want one of the signed copies, call them and let them know!

WECNYC Opened in Bay Ridge
I saw Assemblywoman Mathylde Frontus shared this sweet photo on social media.
I didn’t know what WECNYC was.
Some things in Bay Ridge are not shared. I’m not sure why.
The goals of WECNYC look the same as the Arab American Association of NY. (See here and here) The website’s components look very similiar.
The AAA is well-funded by multiple politicians, so I am not sure why a place like this would be so close.
Someone in the comments said it looked more like a political group based on what they saw on Facebook. (See here)

Oishi Noodle Bar is Opening on 3rd Avenue
Oishi Noodle Bar is opening on the corner of 93rd Street and 3rd Avenue where Kimchee Korean Restaurant used to be. This is an authentic Japanese noodle shop.
They put up a bright awning:
The owners are from Bay Ridge!
Congratulations to the owners of Oishi, which are the same owners as Townhouse Bar around the corner from the restaurant. The speakeasy will serve items from the noodle bar and the noodle bar will serve beverages from Townhouse! (If you have ever been to Townhouse, it has a great vibe…and fantastic drinks.)
Oishi Noodle Bar is still a month or two away from opening. When it opens, it will be for take out or delivery for awhile.
They have a website and menu here too.
Someone on social media wrote that this restaurant served $65.00 chicken, so they made their background say, “We do not serve sixty-five dollar chicken.” LOL! The menu the person saw was a placeholder menu – not their menu.
People are sad Kimchee is gone, but also glad to see a new place coming to that corner!

Terri Liftin – The Woman Qualified for the Comptroller Job, But Andrew Gounardes and Justin Brannan Endorsed Their Friend, Speeding Brad Lander

Liftin is qualified to be NYC Comptroller. You haven’t heard about her because the news and politicians in our area are playing games endorsing their friends.
Speeding Brad Lander was endorsed by Justin Brannan and Andrew Gounardes endorsed. (See endorsement) Neither pol has removed their endorsement after the shocking news yesterday. (See here)
How many degrees and qualifications over a man does a female politician need in order to get an endorsement from a male colleague?
Politicians in our area have tried to keep women out of politics. Brannan, Treyger and Gounardes made a backroom deal in which they almost squeezed the very qualified, Mathylde Frontus out of her position. (Info)
Lander’s arrogance was on full display last night when he was on Errol Lewis’ show. (See here) Lander didn’t even apologize for speeding in school zones, something he claimed was important to him a few years ago.

The Bay Ridge Democrats also endorsed Lander and were silent yesterday. Please stop making terrible endorsements Bay Ridge Dems.
Just a few years ago, Andrew Gounardes stood on the streets of Bay Ridge and said Marty Golden shouldn’t be in office for reckless driving….what about Lander? Why is Senator Gounardes silent now?
The best news we heard last night was Errol announce that Lander had only 4% of the vote. I’m glad people aren’t fooled by these silly endorsements.
Oh and if there really was a Bay Ridge Street Safety Taskforce wouldn’t they have said something in the past few month? (See here)
