Empty Bowls Sale on May 8th
If you need a gift for someone’s birthday, Mother’s Day or another event – mark your calendar for the Empty Bowls Bay Ridge Event on Saturday, May 8th from 12 – 2 pm.
The money raised from the bowl sale is given to the Food Pantry at the Fourth Avenue Presbyterian Church.
Every bowl is handmade by local artists and is $25 each. They are pretty, unique and everyone I have given one to loves it.
David and his volunteers have been working throughout the pandemic to continue to serve the food insecure in our community.
The demand on the Food Pantry is greater than ever before, with hundreds of families visiting for additional support every week.
**ALSO NOTE: They will be accepting donations of non-perishable food and toiletries for the pantry at our Empty Bowls event. If you plan on stopping by to pick out a bowl , please consider bringing one or more of these items to donate and restock the pantry:
Bags of rice or other grains
Dried beans
Cans of vegetables
Tuna fish in cans
Pasta
Peanut butter
Oils for cooking
Coffee or tea
Toothbrushes/toothpaste
Soaps, shampoos
Women’s sanitary products
diapers, wipes, baby products
Band aids and other first aid products

Teddy Horangic is a jazz singer, who will be performing at the Brooklyn Firefly on Saturday night at 8:00 pm.
Horangic’s interest is in jazz vocals. Cecile McLorin Salvant, Sarah Vaughan, Dinah Washington and Shirley Horn are her primary influences.
