Republican Mayoral Candidates Bickered on NY1 ~ Bay Ridge Pols Mentioned
Wow! There was a crazy debate on NY 1 tonight: Fernando Matteo vs. Curtis Sliwa.
Matteo was so annoying. He was yelling and arguing about everything. Matteo made Sliwa look subdued. We just got Trump off our television, we don’t need Matteo on it!
Whoever in the Republican Party thought Matteo was a good candidate, does not know NYC! Jim Otto would have been a winning candidate (he’s very likeable because he’s down to earth).
Bay Ridge highlights in the debate: Matteo blamed Sliwa for supporting Democrats. Sliwa said he supported Bruno over Gounardes and Malliotakis over Max Rose.
Then Curtis slammed Matteo for supporting the Mayor. (The newspaper shows this and this). Sliwa iced Matteo by gloating that Marty Golden endorsed Sliwa not Matteo.
Sliwa’s chances of becoming mayor are slim, but if a far left candidate wins the Democratic Primary because of ranked choice voting, then there is a chance more conservative Democrats would vote for Sliwa.
For years, Curtis Sliwa has been a street safety advocate and protected the trains with his group, The Guardian Angels. Sliwa has also been an animal advocate and announced that he would end kill shelters in NYC if he was mayor.
Sliwa didn’t vote for Trump, but he didn’t vote for Hillary Clinton either.

The 68th Precinct is asking for your help in identifying this person. He is wanted in connection to a Grand Larceny of a Rigid Press Tool Kit.
This was taken from a van in the vicinity of 82nd Street and 3rd Avenue in Bay Ridge.

Bishop Kearney Class of 1971 – 50th Reunion – September 2021
On Friday, September 24, 2021, Bishop Kearney Class of 1971 will celebrate their 50th Graduation Anniversary. Although the school is closed, they are organizing a celebration at the Staten Island Hilton Garden Inn.
If you are seeing this message late, message them anyway. They are Kearney Girls, they will understand. Spouses are allowed to attend too.
