Malliotakis Called Out Brannan and Cuomo

Usually Nicole Malliotakis doesn’t call out Justin Brannan or Andrew Cuomo. But hearing about a senior being robbed in the afternoon must have set Malliotakis off. Nicole has always supported the police and considered safety as a main concern.

Last June, as the coronavirus raged through NYC, Councilman Justin Brannan engaged in a conversation on Twitter. A stranger asked “Which councilmembers have yet to agree to #DefundNYPD by at least 1 Billion? Brannan replied “Ya, I’m in.” The conversation can be seen here.

Brannan should have been a leader and said, “No we are going to reform the police and transfer money to some departments.” The words used in NYC matter.

Brannan never apologized or took responsibility for what that type of rhetoric did to NYC.

Malliotakis Doesn’t Care That She Has Challengers. She is Doing What She Was Elected to Do

Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis put the picture above online with no title because a picture is worth a thousand words.

It’s obvious that Malliotakis likes her job and sends constant reminders to her supporters that she is going to fight against socialism.

I am not a Malliotakis supporter, but even I can say she is working hard, getting her message out, fighting for her community and she obviously enjoys what she is doing.

Max Rose appeared on the news yesterday. He was a little bit bitter when he spoke about Malliotakis. The news asked him about running against her – he didn’t rule it out.

Why You Need To Know About the East River Plan in Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights Brooklyn…

Today we are cheering for the East River Park activists. Thankfully, the NYC Comptroller has refused the East River Plan and sent it back because he is questioned the disclosures that were filed.

While the East River Plan may have merits, the residents weren’t able to see them or most of the information about the project because it looked like this:

These activists have been working for months to try to get information about the plan.

Why do you need to know about the East River Park Project in Brooklyn?

Councilman Justin Brannan is the Chairman of the Committee on Resiliency and Waterfronts. (See here)

In May, the activist went to Brannan’s office because he wasn’t returning their phone calls. They shared how the BRANNAN ZAP went here:

Brannan Zap

Brannan receives extra pay to head that committee, so he should have been able to provide them with the report or help them obtain it.

The activist were met by Brannan’s staffer, who didn’t invite them in, even though all had masks on. (See photo they shared) After that visit to Brannan’s office the activist did not receive a phone call or any help from Brannan.

These NY’ers were fighting for their park and were treated like they were nobody. Justin could have provided him with the report or provided them some assistance instead of dodging them.

I’m glad they stayed passionate and continued to fight for their park. The plan was able to get all the way to the NYC Comptroller’s office and they did everything they could to fight it.

Justin Brannan became part of the system and just one more office that delayed them getting help. If Scott Stringer didn’t refuse to sign the plan yesterday, most people probably wouldn’t hear of this either.

Mike DeCillis is Running for Congress Again

In 2018, Mike DeCillis threw his hat in to run for Congress. By March that year, DeCillis withdrew from the Democratic primary because the DNC was already backing Max Rose.

I was interested in DeCillis in 2018. He was from Bay Ridge and was a special education teacher. Prior to that he worked as a police officer, attorney AND worked for EMS. I thought his background was interesting and he was well spoken.

But that was three years ago. DeCillis is easy to criticize Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis, but he is silent and has not spoken out about any of the problems that politicians in our area have created due to selfishness, greed and sneakiness. We are talking about bills for lobbyists, accepting PAC money, accepting develop money and other strange happening.

DeCillis claims that he would be better than Malliotakis because he will listen to the needs of the community. (Source) DeCillis thinks our needs now in 2021 are the same as they were in 2018. If he was listening to the community, we would have seen Mike speak out at least one thing politicians have been doing. Mike hasn’t said ANYTHING about anyone but Nicole.

I let DeCillis know that we don’t need another picture-taking politician who is silent when people in his party do the wrong thing.

If DeCillis was able to speak out against his party, he would have challenged Chris McCreight for the District Leader seat.

McCreight ran on a platform that he was against corruption and he would not support corrupt candidates in Bay Ridge.
