Protesters Were Outside of Congresswoman Malliotakis’ Office Over Environmental Bill

Last night around 7:30 pm, I saw a small group of people (about 25-30) outside of Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis and Assemblyman Michael Tannousis’ closed office. (Video here)

I hadn’t hear about a rally, so I went online to look for and found they were protesting abut the Invest in America Act – see here

Pasticcerria Rocco in Bay Ridge has joined the Lawsuit Against New York City

The owners of Pasticcerria Rocco on 4th Avenue and 94th Street don’t want to discriminate or desegregate their customers based on who has vaccines and who doesn’t.

They know they could face a fine of $1000 for not checking the vaccines of customers. They have joined the lawsuit seeking an injunction against Mayor deBlasio’s vaccine mandate. (More info here)

I am glad to see so many people going to their place and showing support to them as they are nice people and this is a very nice place in Bay Ridge! I have a friend and she goes here anytime she needs to unwind and get away from the world.

It’s not easy to be an owner of a restaurant in NYC in 2021.

Why Didn’t Senator Gounardes Implore President Biden to Bring Americans Home from Afghanistan?

Governors and United States State Senators sent letters to President Biden.

Gounardes and other NY State Senators sent the president a letter saying that NY will take refugees from Afghanistan. (See here and here)

But many Americans are still in Afghanistan and can’t get home. Some are writing very dismal things on social media because they are afraid to be killed by the Taliban. We know that some of the people in Afghanistan are from New Yorkers. If you were in Afghanistan and you knew a NYS representative was asking for refugees and not you, how would you feel?

It’s always about the press releases, rather than actually helping people from the area.

Ludin Lopez is a Hero – Transit Police Officer

Transit Police Officer, Ludin Lopez went into the tracks and brought a 60-year-old man who had a seizure to safety. Another kind NY’er also jumped into the tracks to help (no one knows his name). (See Story)

In the paper, Officer Lopez was very modest and said he was in the right place at the right time. (See here) He is a true hero!

The other officers used their flashlights to signal the conductor of the oncoming train not to come into the station. (Watch the video above)
