Pam and Craig, owners of PC’s Bar and Grill at 7215 5th Avenue is celebrating 25 years in Bay Ridge today!
On Friday night (9/24/21), there will be Open Streets on 5th Avenue and PC’s is celebrating with Mike McLaughlin will start playing at 6:00pm and the above BBQ menu.
Why isn’t the accomplishment of being in business for 25 years celebrated better? This is a HUGE accomplishment. Congratulations Pam and Craig – many more years of success!

Why Won’t the Brooklyn Paper Share the Truth?
It’s a year later and nothing has been done on resiliency.
Instead, the politicians are pointing to an article in the Brooklyn Paper from a year ago. They aren’t embarrassed that nothing was done. Their objective was the opt-ed because they think you don’t notice.
Press release politics is all we have. Politicians who controlled a lot of money could have made a dent in the problem, but didn’t.
Last September, Justin Brannan pushed a drone bill that wrote in January 2018 (yes, the first month he got into office, Justin Brannan wrote a bill for lobbyists). Info here
The Brooklyn Paper should have said, “Yes it’s a year later politicans- what did you do about this other than write this article”?

College Student in Downtown Brooklyn Shot
A college student in Brooklyn was shot outside his school. And no one seemed to care!
Have people become immune to the shootings that they don’t even mention it on social media?
A 19-year-old college student was shot by a stray bullet outside the NYU Tandon School of Engineering in Downtown Brooklyn around 3:00 pm.
The student was shot in the arm and taken to Methodist Hospital.
No politicians spoke about it on social media – not even Eric Adams whose office at Borough Hall is right there.
Journalist, Meaghan McGoldrick didn’t think it was a big deal as there was only six shootings in that area this year. Sadly, a college student was stuck by a stray bullet and even a Brooklyn journalist wasn’t outraged, upset and didn’t seem to care.

Bay Ridge Jewish Center Led With Grace
There’s a pandemic going on. People are on edge.
Political Leaders should have stepped in and talked with all.
If there is something upsetting you about a business, call them. Business owners here are very responsive. These businesses have been in the community doing good things for years. We all know it. Sometimes a staff member at these places makes a mistep. Try not to bite their heads off.
The Bay Ridge Jewish Center’s response was appropriate. They stomped on the hate and showed grace….something that is needed if someone has never done anything wrong before and has always been a good person.
Finally, nothing can compare to the Holocaust.

Flags Aren’t Appreciated By Everyone Because They Don’t Know the Story Behind Them
This week, a teen in our area took down a NYPD blue American flag. I saw the video. I could tell she thought she was doing the right thing because she has seen these flags standing for the Blue Lives Matter Group. It was an act that was filmed for social media because the teen believed she was standing up against racism.
Here’s the sad part: the flag that was removed was for Officer Moira Smith, the only female police officer to die at the WTC on 9/11. Teens today don’t know about what happened in 2001 – they weren’t born yet. They don’t know about the Bay Ridge hero. (See here and see Moira’s daughter here) Someone in Bay Ridge should write a children’s book about Moira!
We live in America – it’s the greatest country in the world. People can rip up and burn our flags. (Yes it kills me because I like flags). But here’s what I know – good people will put up a new flag soon because we all know what it stands for and ** you are the reason that we live here. **
