St. Ephrem Students Bring Donuts to NYPD

Two students from St. Ephrem sold donuts all around the neighborhood. Then they bought donuts for the 62nd Precinct Police.

This is not only kind, but also the way families are showing their children that the NYPD is important to the community and that we appreciate them.
Two generous students at @st_ephrem in Dyker Heights have organized a Krispy Kreme donut sale with all the proceeds going towards funding a Thanksgiving giveaway to help feed the community and members of the @NYPD62Pct.

October 15, 2021Justin Brannan’s Friday Mid-Day Rally

Around 11:30 am, Justin Brannan was outside his office with a group of people.
How is everyone available at this time of the day?

I thought it was business owners, but Brannan was a no-show for the 7th Avenue meeting and Assemblyman Peter Abbate had to carry that with Community Board 10.
A little after 3:00 pm, I passed by Brannan’s City Council office and it was closed. What happened to his staff?

October 14, 2021Malliotakis Helped People Become Citizens

Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis wrote that she helped 25 people become citizens – that is a huge win for a city that has a broken immigration system. When Malliotakis was in Assembly she complained about the broken system, but she is now able to help people become citizens! Those 25 peoples’s lives are changed now that they have citizenship.
Malliotakis shared that she helped 551 people get passports. I know two people who needed to travel this Summer and they were not able to get passports because there were no appointments for many weeks. They found Malliotakis’ staff to be helpful and quick in providing help. One needed to travel for a funeral and was given immediate help.

October 13, 2021Andrew Gounardes Has Never Rallied Over Property Taxes

The NYC Transit Authority is committed to adding elevators and accessible stations to NYC. They made a plan and several subway stations in Brooklyn are slated to have elevators installed. A rally isn’t going to speed up the MTA on these installations.
The last time we heard Gounardes talking about accessible trains was by the location that his predecessors rallied for.
Gounardes has never rallied for property taxes. He sat back and said, “He was waiting on deBlasio.” Before he was elected, his political clubs said that the former senator was the holdup on property taxes – it’s obvious that he wasn’t.
Gounardes should have rallied Mayor de Blasio and the Governor for help for his community by now!
We have a new governor and we should have seen photos of Andrew Gounardes outside of Governor Hochul’s office for property taxes, but as usual, he is silent and isn’t doing anything.

October 13, 2021OGO NEW YORK in Bay Ridge is Closing

OGO New York at 8224 3rd Avenue is closing and will be an online shop. People don’t realize that these shops need help.

This was a really nice boutique in our area and the owner was very sweet. Before Covid, she had a fashion show with a lot of Moms in Bay Ridge wearing her shop’s clothes.
There are sales at the shop this week.
