Woman Stabbed and Robbed – 3rd Avenue and 88th Street in Bay Ridge

Around 8:30 pm last night, a woman was stabbed and robbed by a man on 3rd Avenue and 88th Street in Bay Ridge.

Did the story make it to the local papers today? No. For some reason a woman being hurt in our community is not news.

The woman was stabbed in the hand. People said there was a lot of blood on the street.

UPDATE: Tonight at the 68th Precinct’s meeting the Captain said, “the thief came behind the woman and grabbed her bag. As he was trying to get away, the victim’s hand got cut. “ (Why didn’t he say: While being robbed, a woman was slashed while trying to defend herself.)

The 68th Precinct did not provide any information about the perp – not even a description. There has to be some cameras in the area that they could have released an image by now (November 18th)

Not one politician spoke about this incident publicly – it was only addressed in a private facebook group, which was shared with me. Senator Andrew Gounardes does not view the safety of the community as being important.

Brannan thinks that speaking to his friends in a group is being a leader.

While both Mrs. Brannan’s must know the information, Justin doesn’t think the community needs to know this information to be safe.

Brannan shared this message on Facebook. I am blocked from viewing this account, so I am not sure if this was the whole message.

Yes, it’s illegal for elected representatives to block constituents, but he is like the old senator – not accountable to this community.

As everyone knows, I have never spoken about the councilman’s appearance, but I have spoken out against his bills for lobbyists and his failure to act for this community (See here) and for animals in NYC. (See here) While the Bay Ridge Democrats may not like animals, we do. We hate that dogs and cats are being killed weekly because Justin Brannan was silent.

CD 43 – Brannan Won, But The Results Show Democrats Voted Against Brannan

On election night, this was the results: Fox 12,145 to Brannan 11,890

On November 8th, Justin Brannan shared that there were 1399 Democrat or Working Families Party ballots. If all of them voted for him, he would win the election by around 800 votes. There were only 280 Republican absentee ballots.

BUT I DON’T THINK THEY DID.

I think there were a lot of Democrats who are tired of the current leadership because no one is managing this area. THERE WERE!

The Post said Brannan won only by 300 votes. (See here)

This low of a margin for an incumbent says A LOT.

What happened to the 1399 Democratic/WFP absentee ballots? There were Democrats who voted for Fox.

Brannan wasn’t a gentleman after winning. The newspaper referred to him as a sore winner. (See here)

This isn’t how a man who won an election acts!

Brannan still wanted to pretend it was a Republican red wave.

Brian Fox did incredible for a man people didn’t get to hear at a debate. Many people voted for him because the neighborhood deserves someone who is interested in leading and not playing politics with their party.

Brannan’s campaign this time was not clean like his last election. He refused to debate Fox. That’s part of the process for a election. It had nothing to do with the location or who were vacinated because they could have debated outdoors. The weather was great in September and October.

Brannan didn’t want people to hear about what he wrote on Twitter before the budget vote in 2020. He thought no one had seen it. Sadly, some of his reporters had seen it and one man who writes for the local paper saw it and didn’t tell you about it either.

Justin Brannan Wants to Defund the Police?! - Ji Siting Defund?

His supporters went low by insulting Brian Fox’s clothes and making a social media account to harass Fox, (just like we saw Republicans do to Democrats in the past).

Fox’s team stayed professional and blocked the negative comments. Brannan supporters were taking down signs. (See here) Sadly, Brannan didn’t tell his supporters to cut the nonsense.

Fire at 303 – 99th Street in Bay Ridge

On Tuesday, November 16th there was a serious fire at 303 – 99th Street just before 11:00 am.

The fire was on the 4th floor and went to the 5th floor. Residents from the 5th floor apartments shared that their apartments were completely destroyed by the fire.

The fourth floor residents apartments were destroyed by the force of the water needed to put out the fire.

Neighbors reported that the Red Cross was working in the building helping the people displaced by the fire.

The Red Cross gave some residents two nights stay in a hotel, but the residents don’t know what they are going to do after that. Some are seniors and are worried about where they will live.

** Prayers for these neighbors. ** I have not seen a GoFund Me for them yet.

Gounardes Sleep Bill Failed Bay Ridge – Residents Complain of Noise

Residents are asking who is racing down Narrows Avenue and 3rd Avenue nearly every night around 11:00 pm. You can complain all you like Bay Ridge, this has been going on for years because the leaders around her don’t think we need the police.

Residents are telling each other to get sound proofing on their windows and talking about http://citiquiet.com

Senator Andrew Gounardes bill became law and it still didn’t do anything. Gounardes should have put in a bill for tax breaks for residents to purchase sound guarding for their windows instead of putting in a silly bill that did nothing.

Hotel Plans for 86th Street Posted on The Fence

Here’s the plans for the hotel on the fence of the lot at 640 -86th Street – this is the lot where the old gas station was (see here)

Why didn’t Councilman Brannan’s newsletter tell the community that the hotel construction was starting?

The original plan was for a 95 room hotel – see here. This hotel will be across the street from the new middle school that is being built at the Nathan’s lot.

This hotel is planning to open in Fall 2023.

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is 86th-street-hotel-bay-ridge-brooklyn.png

Notice the hotel’s logo on the side is Avid Hotel, which had plans for the area for awhile.

Avid Hotel in Boston

The Avid Hotel is part of the IGH group. These hotels are near airports. The photo above is the Avid Hotel in Boston. (photos of rooms here)

Newspapers aren’t sharing this information because reporters for the area don’t live here in Bay Ridge or they are pumping up a political party and don’t want to discuss how the community found out about this project from a website – not the local representatives.

In March 2020, the developer filed a permit for the hotel. We questioned why a website was telling Bay Ridge about the hotel and not the elected Councilman. Councilman Brannan wrote this online:

Obviously the developer didn’t like what Brannan had to say because a hotel is being built here.

Councilman Brannan continued to tell residents that this lot wasn’t going to be a hotel.

Hotel owners want to make money by housing the homeless through the city’s program. People from Manhattan were bused to Downtown Brooklyn to be housed in a boutique hotel. (See here)

Eric Adams wants to changed 25,000 hotels rooms into affordable housing – see here.

In 2019, Brannan wrote that he was meeting with the developer of this lot. Why didn’t Brannan address the community about this development in 2019 or 2020 – when he had information?

Senator Andrew Gounardes also represents the area and has never mentioned a hotel being built on 86th Street – when you vote for people make sure they care about the community they are trying to represent.

If you think Eric Adams is going to be any different, think again:
