“Brigadoon” is Narrows Community Theater’s Spring musical. Auditions are February 7th and 8th. They also do virtual auditions.

January 30, 2026The AI That Andrew Gounardes Failed to Tell NYC About, But Mayor Mamdami is Doing Away With!
On social media, Senator Andrew Gouanrdes acts as if he an advocate for the community against AI.
The problem is Gounardes does not understand AI enough to speak about it. If he understood it, Andrew Gounardes would have called out the faulty Artificial Intelligence being used by NYC.
The City noted that Eric Adams started using the chatbot in 2023, but the chatbot provided answers that would lead to illegal behavior by businesses, like taking a cut of employees’ tips.
“When asked about housing policy, the bot suggested landlords could discriminate against tenants with Section 8 voucher.” Source:

January 30, 2026Bay Ridge Center Meals On Wheels Program Gave Out Storm Kits to Brooklyn Residents
Bay Ridge Center’s Meals on Wheels was on News 12 today.
They delivers 600 meals each day to residents in Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights, Bensonhurst, Gravesend, Bath Beach and Coney Island. Dropping off food to homebound adults in Brooklyn allows them to reconnect with people, especially during snowstorms. See video:

January 29, 2026Four Days After The Storm, The D Train Platform Is Not Cleared in Brooklyn
The 79th Street D train station in Brooklyn has not been cleared – it’s four days after the storm. This is a safety issue as there isn’t enough room for people to pass each other.
Senator Andrew Gounardes is silent, even though he was alerted about the problem and provided a picture.
The residents using this train live in Councilmember Kayla Santosusso’s office. When they contacted the Councilwoman, she said, “That’s not my district.”
Kayla knows this is a gerrymandered district, so she should be helping the people with the services that they need to use (not crying, “Not my district.”)

January 29, 2026Two People Injured by Ebike Fire – Dyker Heights

There was a fire at 8501 Fort Hamilton Parkway around 12:00 pm today. News 12 reported that 79 fire and EMS personnel responded to the fire at the apartment building.
The NY FDNY shared that the fire was caused by an ebike on the second floor. News 12 NY mentioned that they saw a damaged ebike outside. Info:

Mr. G highlighted the Facebook group called: The Bay Ridge Shoveling Connection, which hooks up people who want to work and shovel snow (or did out cars) with people who want to hire snow shovelers. See the group here:
