Leo’s & Baci Restaurants in Bay Ridge Were Robbed

Very early yesterday morning, Leo’s Casa Calamari at 8502 – 3rd Avenue and Baci were robbed.

The thief took supplies from the well-loved Bay Ridge restaurants.

We need more police patrolling in Bay Ridge.

Elected leaders have looked away – not one mentioned it.

Yes, we live in an urban area, but robberies should not be common. If a politician is claiming to support small businesses, they should be doing something about all of these robberies. No one is going to want to have a business here if they keep getting ripped off.

Bay Ridge show some love to Leo’s and Baci this weekend!

The R Train Has Become a Traveling Hotel for The Homeless

R Train Riders are finding that their morning train has a lot of homeless people using the train like a moving hotel. Not one politician has done anything about it when people complain.

Another video was shared here – it’s heartbreaking to see people are living like this on the train.

The people sleeping on this train need help. They don’t want to sleep on the train. They do so because they want somewhere warm to sleep and they don’t want to be robbed at NY City’s shelters.

When people from NYC ask these people if they want help, they say no because the help they are being offered isn’t better than sleeping on a train!

Apparently, some politicians didn’t want the homeless at their train station. Last February, when people asked what happened to the benches at certain stations, @NYCTSubway said “Benches were removed from stations to prevent the homeless from sleeping on them.”

If your family member was sleeping on a train in the early morning, you would want someone to help them.

Candlelight Vigil for Yao Pan Ma on January 21, 2022

It’s nice that they are having a candlelight vigil, but Yao Pan Ma should be he still.

Yao Pan Ma was a 61-year-old man, who was attacked in Harlem while collecting cans last April. He didn’t always collect cans. In 2019, Yaho Pan Man worked as a kitchen helper/cook, but the place when out of business in March 2020 due to Covid-19.

He was in a coma for awhile, but passed away on December 31, 2021. A vigil will be held on January 21 at 10:00 am on 125th Street and 3rd Avenue where the incident occurred.

Tell Gounardes and Frontus to Vote No On This Bill for Prisoners Over 55

If you just read the above question and you are like NO, NO, NO…..that would be a normal Brooklynites response.

We know that Senator Gounardes forgets he represents Bay Ridge when he goes to Albany and he voted with the Democrats for Bail Reform. Now they are trying to parole prisoners 55 and up.

The NYS Senate is pushing bill S15A (see here) to parole incarcerated people that are over age 55.

**There is not a bill to stop the government from overcharging Bay Ridge Home owners on their taxes, but there is a bill to let prisoners go!

The NYS Senate and Assembly keep loosening the law for people who don’t deserve it. YEAR AFTER YEAR because Andrew Gouanardes is not representing Bay Ridge.

If someone committed a crime and their crime keeps them in jail at 55 – they should do their time. Why did the courts hear their case if the NYS Senate intended to free them?

I could see them seeking leniency for someone who is 70+, but not 55.

Call Senator Gounardes and tell him to vote no: (718) 238-6044

**Andrew Gounardes just released a write-up and he didn’t even mention this bill coming up! He did the same with bail reform!

Assemblywoman Mathylde Frontus: 347-560-6302

Lil Mo Mozzarella Reviews Paneantico

Lil Mo Mozzarella reviewed Paneantico. As you can see by his smile in the photo above, Paneantico’s sandwich made Lil’ Mo happy!

I love Lil’ Mo’s videos – he’s happy to be alive and enjoying life! He reminds me of some Brooklynites I used to know!

And I love that Lil’ Mo promoted a Bay Ridge business that he loves (and we love too)!

Paneantico is at 9124 3rd Avenue. We’ve have never had anything bad from there. Their food and coffee is fantastic. See their menu
