Mark Hanna (Bay Ridge) Wasn’t At the Virtual Launch Party For More Than Five Minutes.

Mark Hanna is running to be a Democratic District Leader in Bay Ridge.

Hanna posted the above flyer on Twitter saying, “Come and Meet Us.” I decided to go to the Zoom Meeting and see who he was and what he had to say. I was hoping to ask him some questions.

Throughout the meeting this is what we saw of Mark Hanna:

The Zoom meeting wasn’t a quick one either. The Progressive Democrats started playing games – no, I am not kidding.

This Brooklyn Can’t Wait group is the New Kings Democrats joined together with two other groups, The Brooklyn Young Democrats and The Lambda Democrats. While they say the word “progressive,” many of their candidate are socialists.

This group claimed to want to transform the Brooklyn Democratic Party and make it one that respects and includes everyone. Many speakers mentioned creating an inclusive party.

Their pledge:

They want to elect district leaders who will engage with the community and see what they can build. The reality is The New Kings Democrats are just like every other group, they don’t research a candidates questionnaire answers to see if they are true. They have endorsed in our area and the questionnaire didn’t match reality. (See here)

I learned one thing: every District Leader is up for re-election this year. *Their candidates all have cookie-cutter websites!

Then they brought out Jumaane Williams. Williams said, The seat he is holding is not more than the people he represents.” Too bad Williams doesn’t work with that attitude.

.

Finally, after over an hour and fifteen minutes, Mark Hanna puts on his camera and talks for three minutes.

Hanna and another District Leader hopeful were out petitioning while this meeting was going on. Even they didn’t want to listen to the people at this meeting and they are being supported by them!

Bay Ridge, don’t elect people who overbook themselves and don’t show up at a meeting.

None of the progressives at the meeting seemed to care, as there were a lot of scheduled people who were supposed to speak, but didn’t show up. When someone shows you who they are – believe them.

Mark Hanna didn’t say anything about Bay Ridge and just talked about working for El Yateem and how he got interested in being a District Leader. Then he was gone.

Max Rose Gushed About An Endorsement

Max Rose wrote on social media about his endorsement from Jo Anne Simon. Simon ran for Brooklyn Borough President and lost:

This is what Max Rose told us about Jo Anne Simon:

Rose forgot to tell people that Jo Anne Simon supported bail reform.

At the start of the Pandemic in March 2020, she wrote #NoRollbacks when people asked for changes to the new reforms.

Back then the Jewish community was asking for reform to the new bail laws because of the rise of acts of Antisemitism. (See here)

Karim Elsammak is Running for NYS Senate

Update: Karim ended his run for office after severe gerrymandering in the district.

Breaking News: Karim Elsammak is running for NYS Senate District 22.

Karim is not a professional politician (which is a good thing) – he’s a pilot.

Karim Elsammak is optimistic and wants to help Brooklyn! I particularly liked that he discussed dealing with Asian hate.

Since Karim isn’t a politician, he’s interesting. Hear him speak here. Elsammak is focusing on crime and reversing bail reform. I look forward to hearing more from him!

I’m glad to see that several people in this community are coming out to challenge Andrew Gounardes because Gounardes is a terrible senator.

In 2018, Gounardes told everyone that he was going to help with property taxes. In 2019, Gounardes wrote to me and told me that the following session he would get it done. HE LIED. We are in 2022 and The Property Tax Commission gave their report months ago and Gounardes failed to take action.

AYAB – The Alliance of Yemeni American Businesses endorsed Karim Elsammak.
