Prom Dress Collection for High School Seniors
Donate dresses that are in good shape to high school seniors in our area. Contact Elle (here) for pickup.
They are collecting until June 15th.
Update: Some girls are going to the prom because people donated dresses! Good work, Bay Ridge ladies!! If you have any more dresses, contact Elle (here).

Gounardes – Gerrymandering is the Same as Legacy Admissions
Andrew Gounardes doesn’t want schools to choose students on legacy admissions.
Gounardes does think it is fair for our area to be super gerrymandered so that more Democratic voters are in his district.
The new district was set up like this and Andrew Gounardes did not speak out against gerrymandering because this provides him an advantage with more liberal voters in this area.
Where are all the people in our community who have spoken out against gerrymandering in the past?
Thankfully, the Women’s League of Voters has spoken out against the maps that Gounardes voted for. (See story)
Notice, like legacy admissions if it is in their favor, they are silent and they didn’t care if it was right or wrong to begin with.
Gounardes spoke out about gerrymandering a lot prior to this.
Here’s when Gounardes said it was wrong because Republicans did it:

ShotSpotter on Mermaid Avenue in Coney Island, Brooklyn detected eight gunshots around 11:15 am this morning.
One gun was retrieved – no one was arrested. (Info)

Boozy BINGO at the Bean Post – April 22nd
On Friday, April 22nd, the Bean Post will have Boozy BINGO from 7 – 10 pm.
A portion of the proceeds will be going to Willie’s Angels in the Parkinson’s Unity Walk.

Brooklyn Trampoline Park 2nd Avenue – Costs
Urban Air Adventure Park is opening in June at 4422 – 2nd Avenue.
This is an indoor trampoline park for children – many families have birthday parties there.
A lot of Brooklynites travel to New Jersey to jump and play at the Urban Air Adventures Park there.
This would be a nice place for a teen to get a Summer job!

Irene Chu Never Spoke Up And Said AAPI Weren’t Receiving Enough Funding From Gounardes & Abbate
Irene Chu, who works for Assemblyman Abbate has never spoken out and said that Peter Abbate and Senator Andrew Gounardes have not properly funded AAPI. But she wrote an Op-Ed talking about funding not being provided to AAPI communities. (See here)
When Covid started and Asians were being harrassed, why didn’t Peter Abbate and Iwen Chu give out pepper spray like other communities did?
Irene Chu does not believe the women in our area and Sunset Park deserve fair voting districts. Chu agreed to run, even though she knew the Democrats were gerrymandering our community.
No one is opposing her in the election because no one knows about the new district, except insiders who work with politicians.
