SqddxjQ48j shared some nice photos of the new mural on Bay Ridge Avenue and Shore Road in Brooklyn.
Xaverian High School is working with the NYC Department of Transportation’s Art Program (DOT Art) on this project. This is their second mural design and the school will maintain the installation.

A Brooklyn Mom named Rose Cabo has been looking for her daughter for six years. (Story here)
Chelsea has been missing since May 2016. Chelsea attended Bishop Kearney High School.
Now Rose Cabo is having an app built to help other missing people.
On Friday, June 16th she is having a fundraiser at The Salty Dog.

The Bay Ridge Peace Action Group will hold a Juneteenth Vigil on Monday, June 20th from 2 – 3 pm on 86th Street and 4th Avenue.
Juneteenth is on Sunday, so NYC will be celebrating on Monday. 6/20

June 13, 2022Overturned Vehicle – 67th & Ridge Blvd.
Around 11:15 pm last night, firefighters raced to 67th Street & Ridge Blvd. to help the driver of this overturned vehicle. (See video)
A better video was shared – WOW this is bad. Take a look at the blue car on the opposite side of the street….it just drove away. How do you drive away when you see someone’s car overturn?

June 13, 20224th of July Parade in Brooklyn 7/3/22
The Independence Day Parade was moved to Sunset Park by Mayor Adams after the N train shooting early this year.
The parade is set to begin at 11:30 am. They are lining up on 59th Street between 5th and 6th Avenue. Then they will make a left and travel across on 5th Avenue to 43th Street.
I haven’t seen any flyers for this parade, but 311 said it is happening.
The NYPD has it on their calendar for street closures. (See here)
There is a parade in Downtown Brooklyn! Bring your kids, pets, bikes, floats, tractors, trucks and any other fun things and participate in the Parade! Line up is at 9:30 on Irwin Street with the Parade starting at 10:00.

Seven young men at OLA became Eagle Scouts this year. Becoming an Eagle Scout is the highest achievement in scouting. The process takes a lot of time and commitment as the scouts have to demonstrate leadership while performing a project to benefit the community.
