The Manhattan Council representatives are calling to suspend commercial rent tax (hey REBNY how ya doing).
We should have seen Councilman Brannan pass legislation to help Bay Ridge businesses by now. Brannan has been the head of finance for five months and should have advocated for Bay Ridge businesses.

Update: Power Back for All But Two in Bay Ridge
Update: Power is back for almost everyone.
Some Bay Ridge residents still did not get power restored by Con Edison yet. They lost power early yesterday on 87th Street and 3rd Avenue (See here)
Con Ed said they were going to restore the power by 2:00 am, but that didn’t happen.
Now residents and businesses are being told tomorrow their power will be back.

David Yassky Is Running for Senate in District 26 And He’s Ready to Listen

David Yassky served in City Council. Now he is running for NYS Senate and he’s listening to high school student – that’s a good start.
Besides, Yassky is running against Andrew Gounardes, remember Gounardes voted to gerrymander our area to help Max Rose. The Courts ruled the gerrymandering unconstitutional. Gounardes never spoke about the maps that he voted in favor of and never shared the maps – he thought we wouldn’t know.

Coney Island Gangs – 36 Shots Fired And No One is Outraged?!
Two gangs fired a total of 36 shots in Coney Island Brooklyn around 5:30 pm on Sunday, May 29th. (See story)
It’s Thursday, June 2nd and not one of them have been caught.
There are some of the shooters:

No one was hurt due to bad aim, but property was damaged.

Man Trespassed in Brooklyn High School Yesterday – Today He Was Apprehended
Yesterday, 27-year-old Brian Lobiano appeared on Wanted Posters for trespassing at St. Edmund High School in Brooklyn.

Today, the 61st Precinct shared that he was apprehended. (See here)
The real question is: How did he get in???

NY Sports Club in Bay Ridge Had a Fire
There was a fire at the NY Sports Club on 3rd Avenue and 71st Street in Bay Ridge last night – 12:40 am.
The fire continued for awhile, but by 1:40 am, the fire was out. No one was hurt.
This business was expected to close at the end of the month and Harbor Fitness is opening there.

Power Out in Bay Ridge – Restoring by 2:00 am
Power has been out for several hours for some homes in Bay Ridge.
Most of the homes are on 87th Street between Ridge Blvd and 3rd Avenue. (See ConEd map)
The map said they would restore power by 7:00 pm.
But now they are saying power will be restored by 2:00 am. Sorry neighbors.
If you go to the ConEd map and zoom in with the plus sign on the left, you can see the message from Con Edison about when your power is expected to return.
Most of the addresses are expected to have the power restored by 7:00 pm.

Smoke Seeping from Street – 3rd Avenue
There as smoke coming from a maintenance hole on 3rd Avenue and 86th Street.
The NYPD sectioned off the street with tape. (See video)
