Joe Borelli Explains the NYC Property Tax Rebate

NYC is sending $100 – $150 dollar rebate to home owners. Most home owners in Bay Ridge are shaking their heads because NYS politicians, like Andrew Gounardes, Mathylde Frontus and Michael Tannousis have been unwilling to fix the disproportionate property taxes.

People thought that since Brannan was a new home owner, he would understand what needed to be done. Brannan gets caught up in taking a photo and doing a press release.

Joe Borelli explained that he didn’t want NYC’s surplus money to go to a social justice program:

This is a city for lobbyists so not a single person working NYC’s government cares that certain communities are overpaying taxes. Politicians promise to help so they can get our votes, but then they don’t want to do the work.

Crazy Brainy Store in Bay Ridge Closed

Crazy Brainy at 8418 5th Avenue closed. This store opened in March this year.

This was a bargain bin store. It was supposed to sell items that were returned from other stores.

.

The concept was good, but the store wasn’t stocked with a lot of useable items.

Why Did Rich Calder Write About A Non-Existent NYC Bill About Catalytic Converters?

On August 20th, Rich Calder, a journalist for the NY Post wrote about a bill that doesn’t exist. Didn’t Calder have anything else to write about during election week other than a bill that Brannan may submit someday?

As of 8/24/22, Brannan doesn’t have a bill in NYC Council about the catalytic converters.

The bill Rich Calder describes doesn’t seem to tackle the problem as those who steal the catalytic converters will cross over to NJ and sell it there.

Police aren’t going to be able to enforce this bill in Brooklyn because they aren’t going to chase thieves.

Politicians asking reporters to write about bills that don’t exist is strange.

Big Chief Removed the Chief Head And Sent Out Love to Bay Ridge

BigChiefxNYC is a new shop that opened on the corner of 3rd Avenue and 74th Street. They had a painting of a chief head that matched their products.

They wrote on Facebook today: “Due to the controversy from the community we’ve decided to take the chief head down.

Our intentions were not to insult or disrespect anyone and we apologize greatly.”

#Weloveyoubayridge #BayRidgeStrong

#PeaceLoveAndHarmony #SpreadLoveitsBayRidgeWay

*This was a very nice thing for them to do and showed they want to be part of the community. And obviously there are a lot of people in this area who want their product.

Update: Someone should have smoked their peace pipe, rather than put up a message on Insta.

Great business move because social media is buzzing about this store and who liked the chief and who didn’t. Now everyone knows where this shop is in Bay Ridge.

BTW, they give military discounts.

People asked me if I was disappointed about tonight’s results. No, I’m not.

I’ve lived in this gerrymandered district long enough to know that politics here is corrupt. It doesn’t matter which party is in office, there are people who want to use the city and have no intention of helping anyone, but their friends.

We are stuck with Andrew Gounardes and Team Fear.

When people fear-monger in an election, it’s because they are fearful. Anyone who shared fake pictures or tried to link Yassky to the Republicans, knew that Andrew was not a good senator. When you are good at what you do, you don’t need to fear-monger.

First they tried fear-mongering that Yassky was with Cuomo. Andrew Gounardes was Cuomo’s boy. Cuomo came out to Bay Ridge to endorse Gounardes. Cuomo got immunity for nursing homes passed because of a silent senate with Gounardes. Cuomo was able to do the things he did because senators weren’t strong enough to speak out. When the women started speaking out, Gounardes was not one of their first supporters.

We’ve lived in this district with one-sided reporting for a long time. The Brooklyn Reporter should be fair and factual. One reporter, Jay Brown wrote an article called “A Matter of Fact.” He wrote about Yassky’s donation, but failed to tell the community about the money behind Andrew Gounardes. (See here)

Why didn’t Jay Brown write about this money:

These donations went to the Empire Dental PAC:

The Empire Dental Pac gave this to Andrew Gounardes:

We have people in this district doing their own things with PACs. #Embarrassing FYI, it was Chris McCreight and Justin Brannan who taught me about PACs (Political Action Committees), so these men know this isn’t alright.

For those of you who were wondering why Andrew Gounardes wrote bills for dentists…..it’s called Pay-to-Play. (More info)

Politics makes some people lose their integrity. When someone doesn’t have integrity, they don’t see anything wrong with gerrymandering.

Team Gounardes tried to create a connection between David Yassky and Republicans, which is awful for Progressives. (See tweets)

While Quaglione is an elected district leader, the former senator’s wife should not have been added to this Photoshopped picture. Anyone can tell the graphic is fake, if they read the title under her photo. Gounardes should have spoken up, but he isn’t able to.

I contacted several woman, who shared the graphic in Facebook groups. Each of them removed the graphic, but didn’t say anything else. (Meaning: they care more about politics than people.)

The Brooklyn Reporter journalist I mentioned above tweeted this. He knew Yassky was a Progressive and had no connection to the Republican Party.

David Yassky is a good person. He doesn’t play on Twitter, like our male politicians. He thought Republicans made the graphic. (See here). Yassky doesn’t know that our area has bad Democrats, who go after Democrats – nothing new.

Here’s to two more years of Brad Lander having a property tax break, money leaving our district to play politics (see here),and lobbyists and developers winning in Brooklyn because a fearful man can’t stand up for the community.
