Tonight a Boeing Stratotanker was very loud and circling over our area for awhile around 7:00 pm. Here’s what the computer showed:
It was probably standing by to accompany Air Force One because Biden was at the UN today.

Students at St. Pats Get Bragging Rights to Being on Donnie Wahlberg’s Instagram Stories
Donnie Wahlberg was in Bay Ridge filming on 4th Avenue and 95th Street.
Walberg took a selfie with the students from St. Pats. It’s in his stories on Instagram, so these lucky students have the bragging rights! #BayRidge
After filming today, Wahlberg share the photo above near the famous Blue Blood house and shared this gracious remark:

Bay Ridge Businesses in Blue Blood Scene
Ben’s Florist and The Coffee Club have to make a Blue Bloods special because they probably will be on television!
Donnie Walhberg and another officer investigate outside of Ben’s Florist.
Then Wahlberg goes back to his car outside of Kathy’s and Molto Bene.
And Rapid Realty’s for Rent Sign (over Molto Bene Pizza at 9524 4th Avenue) made it into the shot.

Apple Bank Robbed in Bay Ridge at 1:00 PM
I was glad to see Councilman Brannan share what is happening in Bay Ridge – even if it isn’t good news, like a robbery at Apple Bank on 5th Avenue, people need to know what’s going on.
As a neighborhood, we need to help the businesses on the Avenues in Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights. We probably need a patrol for each neighborhood.

Bay Ridge Watched As The 68th Precinct Police Walked a Man in Cuffs To Their Car – 85th Street
Around 5:00 pm this even, Ridgites stood on the corner of 85th Street and 4th Avenue and watched the 68th Precinct Police walk a man in cuffs to their car. (See video here)
I’m not sure what they took him out for, if I find out, I’ll share it here (leave a comment if you know what happened).

11-Year-Old Boy Hit By Car – 19th Ave. & 81 St. Bensonhurst, Brooklyn
An 11-year-old boy was hit by a car while riding an electric scooter on 19th Avenue and 81st Street around 8:00 pm on Wednesday night. (NY 12 News) (Pix 11) (Citizen app)
The boy is in critical condition in the hospital. He has serious head and body injuries.
Say some prayers that this little boy is alright. We haven’t heard any elected leaders in Bensonhurst speak about him. Andrew Gounardes should have.
The press wrote that the car had the right of way (meaning the boy drove out into traffic unexpectedly). The driver stayed at the scene.
The news mentioned the boy wasn’t wearing a helmet.
The law says helmets are recommended for all e-scooter riders, and required for 16 and 17 year olds. (NYC Site with info)
Many people who own scooters don’t know the rules. There needs to be a license for motorized riders.
In 2020, Councilman Brannan voted YES to allow scooters. Since then Brannan has not changed the law after seeing how many problems and accidents have been caused by scooters becoming legal without accountability. (See here)
Some parents are riding on these motorized vehicles with a child. Why didn’t Brannan amend the bill for safety?

Blue Bloods is Filming in Bay Ridge Today 9/21
Blue Bloods will be filming by St. Patrick’s Church on 4th Avenue and 95th Street today (Wednesday September 21st). They also have signs on Shore Road 79th – 83rd Street as well.
Community Board 10 shared this:
Yesterday afternoon, the put cones up one side of 95th Street between 3rd and 4th Avenue, on 4th Avenue and a little on 96th Street off 4th Avenue. They need these spots for their trucks and staff vehicles.
In the evening, someone from the set sat in a car with a running engine for hours making sure no one parked in their parking spots.
