September 18, 2022After Loudlabs Shared the Six Robberies of Bay Ridge Businesses, Councilman Brannan Acknowledged They Happened Weeks Ago

It’s sad that a video journalist (Adam at Loudlabs) told Bay Ridge about the robberies in Bay Ridge, rather than Councilman Brannan or Senator Gounardes telling the community. Brannan posted the message above – no new information.
Andrew Gounardes has not shared any information about these crimes. Gounardes also will not share how he spent the money from this district.
The Brooklyn Reporter, The Brooklyn Paper and Channel 1 News did not share this information.

September 18, 2022Six Robberies in Bay Ridge – Loudlabs NYC Told Us – Politicians, NYPD & Journalists are Silent

From August 30th to September 5th, there were six robberies of businesses in our area. $27,000 cash was taken by three thieves.
Andrew Gounardes and Justin Brannan haven’t mentioned it. The six robberies happened almost three weeks ago and no one thought this was worth talking about. The politicians do not care about these business owners or they would have shared this. Why haven’t they taken steps to secure the avenues?
IF BUSINESSES ARE BEING ROBBED IN OUR AREA, THEY AREN’T GOING TO WANT TO HAVE A BUSINESS HERE.
Journalists from local papers don’t live here, so they aren’t that vested. Adam from Loudlabs NYC lives in our area, so he took the time to tell the community what’s going on! Adam shared a NYPD Crimestoppers video of two men – see here

a) Lobo Loco’s 8530 3rd Avenue was robbed of $12,500
b) Cebu Restaurant 8801 3 Avenue $4,100 in cash
c) El Malecon 8727 4 Avenue – they broke the front door glass – $5,395

a) Positano Restaurant – 10018 4th Avenue $800
b) Beets and Carrots Restaurant 9905 3 Avenue – $1,100
c) Fantastic Grocery 8614 – 4th Avenue $3,730
The thieves are three men – ages 35 to 45 – all medium build.
The Citizen App showed several of these robberies, but most of them it didn’t. We know that there was another robbery on 86th Street in Bay Ridge – the thieves cut the gate. This was shared on September 15th — see here

Michael Ragusa shared the above crime on 86th Street when it happened – long before the press shared it. Ragusa also shared some other terrible incidents in Bay Ridge – this is terrible AND this one was gross. Ragusa is running for NYC Council against Brannan in 2024 because he is tired of politicians not doing anything for this community. Follow his Twitter here.
THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE CREEPING AROUND THE NEIGHBORHOOD AT NIGHT – WE NEED MORE EYES ON OUR AVENUES.
If you have information — you can report it and make money. 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM
* If you don’t want to report it, tell me and I will report it and give you the money – I just want these guys caught!

September 17, 2022Dave’s Hot Chicken is Coming to 86th Street

Dave’s Hot Chicken is opening on 86th Street in Bay Ridge. See menu and place your order for pickup here.

This chicken place is between Panda Express and Wendy’s. It’s six storefronts up from 3rd Avenue.
Update: December 2022 They updated the outside of the building and opened – the place looks great – so vibrant! This is where Pretty Woman clothing store used to be.

People are enjoying the fried chicken and seeing how hot they go. People who love hot foods don’t think the medium or hot chicken is as hot as they expected and are looking forward to trying “the reaper” chicken.

September 17, 2022Remembering Christopher Hoban 34 Years Later

Thirty-four years after his death, Police Officer Christopher Hoban is remembered in Bay Ridge. On Sunday, September 18th is the Chris Hoban Run starting outside of Xaverian.
If you have never been to the Chris Hoban run, take a walk down to Shore Road/Xaverian High School around 9:45 am on Sunday morning. It’s a great community event and I never miss it.
The Chris Hoban Run is always on the most beautiful day of the year in Bay Ridge.

Police Officer Christopher Hoban was killed while on the job in 1988. I was a kid when he died, but I clearly remember my Mother being heartbroken for the Hobans.
My Mother was a devout Catholic and as the news told about how Christopher Hoban died, my mother said, “Anyone who kills a police officer should get the death penalty.”
Officer Hoban’s family lived in my parish, OLPH. Police officers lined the streets near the church for blocks. The streets were lined with the blue uniforms – there had to have been a thousand officers there.
AFTER THE CHRIS HOBAN RUN, GET A CAR WASH AND SUPPORT BRAVO (VOLUNTEER AMBULANCE)

Sunday is the last day for the Greek Festival in Bay Ridge.
