Susan Zhuang is Running for the New District 43 Council Seat in Brooklyn

Susan Zhuang, who is the chief-of-staff for Bill Colton is running for the new City Council seat in District 43.

The new district is 54% Asian and was a way for the Democrats to throw the Republican voters in the district out. Sadly, no Democrats spoke about out this gerrymandering, not even Susan Zhuang.

Colton wasn’t a leader against Asian hate – not during the pandemic or after it. I didn’t see his office give out pepper spray and help the people in his community, as other leaders did. I think leadership was a shortcoming in this area of Brooklyn.

In August 2020, a rapper marched in Bensonhurst because an Asian grandmother was set on fire and politicians didn’t stand up. Where was Colton and Zhuang? (Info)

Colton’s office was able to stop the homeless shelter from being built in that area, so that will help Zhuang.

Susan brought a cooked turkey to the officers at the 62nd Precinct – so that’s pretty nice.

Why is Avid Hotel Allowed To Work on Sunday?

George shared this photo of work being done today (Sunday) at the hotel at 640 – 86th Street (this is across the street from where IS 322 will be built at the old Nathan’s location – see street view here).

Why is this location allowed to do construction on Sunday?

The people living on Battery Avenue and 86th Street deserve peace and quiet on their weekend – not construction work early on Sunday morning!

The developers know when they can get away with building on Sunday and when they can’t. No one politician in this community has stood up against a developer.

We need a new council representative that isn’t afraid to speak out against Avid Hotel’s developers.
