Anthony Batista Is Running for NYC Council

Pic from here

Update: Anthony Batista put out that he was running for NYC Council on Twitter. District leaders said they had no idea and argued with Barista on social media. Then Batista disappeared and politicos in Bay Ridge said he was the ringer so that no one else ran against Brannan. Batista didn’t put out a message or explain why he was withdrawing from the election. They told me we would see a not-for-profit from Batista next. *If* Anthony Batista should come back into the political scene, just ignore him!

Anthony Batista, the Director of Constituent Services at Assembly member Mathylde Frontus’ office is running for NYC for District 47. (See list of candidates here)

Pic from here

Battista will have a Democratic primary against Justin Brannan. Ari Kagan and Michael Ragusa will be competing for the Republican’s vote.

What a Mess in Dyker Heights – 86th Street

A large black SUV with broken windows sits on 86th Street. A trailer is attached to and there is a banged up white sedan on the trailer .

The SUV had been on fire and there is small pieces of glass all around it. The hitch in the back has a white sedan that has been beat up. What a mess!

Dyker Heights is a beautiful area. Six months ago, Captain Tolson, Justin Brannan and Andrew Gounardes said they were going to clear this area and they still haven’t cleared the area.

As Temperatures Drop, More R Train Hotel Riders – None Receiving Help

The R train pulled into 95th Street. Several cars have men who are sleeping and need help. Bay Ridge residents see this each morning and no one is offering them help.

It’s good that so many people are interested in running for our City Council seat – maybe one of them will have a plan to help these people. I’m tired of lobbyists getting help.

Christmas Spectacular on Tuesday Night – Expect Fireworks

Two years ago, we came upon one of the most amazing Christmas events in Bay Ridge!

We were riding on 4th Avenue and Santa pulled up with a sleigh to St. Patrick’s. When I saw it, I thought I was in a dream. I turned towards Lee and said, “I’ve never seen Santa pull up in a sleigh anywhere.”

It looked so magical to see children running up and gathering around Santa. It was during the pandemic, and everyone was supposed to be social distancing. But Santa brought some magic to 4th Avenue. The Santa event also has fireworks normally I don’t love fireworks because dogs suffer, but everyone needed fireworks that year.

St. Patrick’s School has this magic happening after the concert on Tuesday evening. Fireworks are also happening so put some music on in your house if you have dogs.
