November 14, 2022Andrew Gounardes’ Pay-To-Play Politics Using Our Senate Seat

Andrew Gounardes accepted $2500 from American Traffic Solutions. Gounardes wrote the bill to extend the red light cameras.

For almost four years, Gounardes failed to help home owners in his district who are being charged twice that of other NY’ers.

Not only did Gounardes get paid, but Kathy Hochul and the Democrats banked the money.

Not one politician wrote a press release to tell the community they accepted this money – $32,500.00 in total.
Pay-to-play politics is alive and well in our our community and NYS. Andrew Gounardes is terrible representative. Who does this to the neighborhood they live in?
Gounardes was the senator of a district where Vision Zero was worse after he took office. While other politicians shared their community’s success, Andrew was silent about how many fatalities happened in this district.

We are surprised that Democrats and civic groups didn’t hold Andrew Gounardes accountable to this community. Hopefully there is a person with integrity in Downtown Brooklyn will run against Gounardes.
We should have seen district leaders including Tori Burnhas and Chris McCreight blast Gounardes for accepting money from lobbyists. Both Burnhas and McCreight were silent.
For the next two years we are stuck with a man who thinks this is alright to do to a community! Romans 12:19-21

November 13, 2022Christopher Skelly is Running for D38 Council

Christopher Skelly is running for NYC Council. His website shows he is mainly focused on two things – Individual Liberty and Public Safety. (See here)

Christopher Skelly is the Secretary of Brooklyn Libertarian Party. He is also the publisher of The Libertarian Guy newsletter.

Skelly’s twitter account is here.
With redistricting, District 43 is in Dyker Heights, so Skelly will be running or District 38. You can see the list here.

District 47 is the new gerrymandered district from Bay Ridge to SeaGate. Ari Kagan is currently registered to run for our city council seat. (Seen here) Kagan didn’t want to be gerrymandered either, but we need to consider him because he is working to clean up 86th Street under the L (and he recognizes it will take constant reminders there too).

For many people in this district, this will be a ABB election – Anyone But Brannan. We have had enough of the lobbyists and developers playing in our community.

November 12, 2022Why Didn’t The Head of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce Advocate for NYC to Hold Somos?
Randy Peers, the head of the Brooklyn Chamber shared the above picture.
Strangely, Peers went to Puerto Rico along with the other borough Chamber of Commerce leaders. All of them presented on a panel. Why wouldn’t one of them go and represent the group?

Even stranger….Jonathan L. Bing is listed as a former Assemblymember. He hasn’t been an assemblyman for over ten years! If you read this blog, you can guess what his career is. Why didn’t they list his career? (Google him) Randy Peers knows his position – why would Peers present with him?
In a time when NY’s economic recovery has not happened and thousands of people are homeless, why didn’t Peers and the other chamber heads call for this event to be held in NYC.?
