December 13, 2022Another Rape in Bay Ridge – 11th Rape This Year

It’s labeled as Rape 1, which is forcible rape. It was reported last week on December 6th.
There are no politicians representing our area so they are unaware or don’t want to give the community a heads up that something has happened.

People don’t need to know the details, but they should be warned so they can take precautions.

How can you see these statistics yourself? Go to Compstat (Here).
Pull down Brooklyn South and 68th Precinct:

This is the 11th rape within the 68th Precinct this year.

December 13, 2022Wai Yee Chan Filed to Run in District 43 in Bklyn

Wai Yee Chan filed to run for District 43. That’s not good for Brooklyn. Update: Wai Yee Chan lives in Queens.
Currently, Chan works for Homecrest Community Services. Prior to that, Wai Yee worked in Councilman Brannan’s office.
Update: Wai Yee Chan didn’t put that she worked for Brannan on her website!
Brannan was terrible with the pandemic. Yet, Wai Yee never said a word! There were no pepper spray giveaways at Brannan’s office to help Asian women in Brooklyn, like many other community offices did. Why didn’t Wai Yee call for that?
People who work in politicians office think that taking photos is the job of the politician, so that’s what they do. See her Twitter account.
In January 2022, Wai Yee complained about the government not doing anything. We didn’t hear her when it was election season.

In October 2021, Wei Yee tweeted in support of Justin Brannan. Since she worked in his office she knows that there are wayyyyyyyyyyyy too many lobbyists winning in our area with Justin Brannan.

The fact that Wei Yee hasn’t spoken out against Councilman Brannan and the lobbyists means she is afraid to speak out against Brannan or she thinks it is normal for politicians to do this!
Wai Yee went to Somos this year. It’s a conference in Puerto Rico that lobbyists attend. There is no reason for NYC Council to go to Somos. Did Wai Yee think that people in Puerto Rico wanted to help Asians in NYC?

We need to move away from picture-taking pols. (Like this) and choose people who take action for the community. (See here)
If you want the community to win and have strong representation, vote for Stanley Ng. Stanley’s going to rock NYC Council because he’s smart and he isn’t afraid. Stanley has helped his community for years. (See here)

December 13, 2022City Council Member Gale Brewer Held a Cannabis Town Hall Tonight

Senator Andrew Gounardes voted in favor of legalizing weed. We have 23 smoke shops in our area.
Like the changes to bail law, Gounardes and his cronies in the NYS senate didn’t plan this well.
More people are selling pot on the streets and in the park illegally because penalties are limited by the scope of the law. The NYPD says their hands are tied under the new law.
City Councilmember, Gale Brewster has known that people are selling pot illegally since June. (See here) Now six mmonths later she held a meeting about the illegal sale of weed. Errol said that there were 26 shops in her area.
None of these Council members care that your teens have easier access to drugs. They think it’s “just pot.” And for some people, it can be that, but for others, the drugs own them. In the future some families will be paying bill bills for rehab because they didn’t say anything now.
The Manhattan District Attorney said they are not enforcing laws about weed because of the changes to the NYS law.
Bobby Cuza from NY 1 said the Office of Cannabis Management enforces the laws to legal marijuana dispensaries – not the illegal ones.

December 13, 2022Brannan Wrote that Energy is Down – A Resident Pointed Out That Energy is Up Almost 50%

Yesterday, Councilman Justin Brannan wrote the strange tweet above.
Brannan wrote that energy has been one of the worst performing segments (not sectors) of the market.
One resident pointed out that Energy is up 49% and it is far and away the BEST performing sector of the market this year.

Maybe Brannan should stick to music.
