November 15, 2022Dog Reunited With Family 8 Yrs Later – Brooklyn

Sean Casey Animal Rescue shared this fantastic story.
Kobi, the dog was recently found as a stray in Sunset Park and was brought to Sean Casey Animal Rescue.
SCAR scanned Kobi for a microchip and found one. Kobi was stolen 8 years ago from his family when he was almost a year old.
SCAR was able to reunite Kobi with his family. It’s a shame that they weren’t together all of these years, but they look very happy to be reunited.

November 14, 2022Bay Ridge Goes Green Online Auction on November 19th For Grandma’s Love

Some Ridgites with green thumbs are holding a plant auction on November 19th to benefit Grandma’s Love.

The online auction made by Bay Ridge Goes Green is such a kind gesture from our sweet green thumb neighbors. To see the items being auctioned – join this group (Share this link with your friends)

*Grandma’s Love is an amazing organization because Theresa Monforte-Caraballo makes sure that children and their families are supported. Backpacks with food are sent home with children weekly.

The pandemic hurt a lot of families. Grandma’s Love has been making sure that children have Thanksgiving dinner, a present at Christmas, warm Winter gear and other essentials.

The plants are healthy because these neighbors love gardening! The group has put up succulents, potted plants, cuttings, pots and other beautiful items, like organic honey:

Many items have low bids of $1, $3 and $5. The highest item I saw was $15. The bidding starts on Saturday morning at 9:00 am.

The best part of this auction –> All money raised will be matched – so Grandma’s Love gets twice as much money!!
This year, we took a lot of our plants inside, so I asked if they will accept donations through paypal or venmo and they said yes!
If you were thinking of sponsoring a family in our area for Thanksgiving Dinner, this would be a good time!

Bay Ridge Go Green – thank you for having this auction and inviting the community to support a wonderful organization which is helping families in Brooklyn!

November 14, 2022NYC Council Doesn’t Decide Property Taxes, Why Would They Have a Meeting About It?

Justin Brannan has been in office for many years. Year after year, Brannan told us that the state has to change property taxes. Yet, Gounardes didn’t do anything because he was pushing lobbyists bills. (See here)
The Property Tax Commission was DeBlasio and Brannan’s way of delaying reform and wasting of time!
On Tuesday, November 15th, Brannan will have a NYC Council Finance Meeting at 11:00 am (Here)

Sadly, people have been disproportionately taxed for years and not one politician from the City Council representative to the Governor has said, “Hey those of you who were overcharged – we are freezing your taxes until we got this problem in control.”
We need better politicians who aren’t afraid to speak up and change the law – not just make noise and write silly articles.

November 14, 2022Ebike Battery Fires, Injuries and Deaths. NYC Council Bill – Justin Brannan is Not On The Bill

Oswald Feliz is the NYC Councilman that all areas of NYC deserve. He introduced a bill on October 12th to stop the sale of uncertified ebike and scooter batteries. (See here) Councilman Brannan is not a sponsor of the bill.

Gale Brewer has a bill to ban the sale of second-hand lithium batteries. Again, Brannan is not a sponsor of the bill. (See here)

It’s not rocket science to sponsor bills which will help ebike owners and keep the buildings where therese bikes are stored safe.
