Coney Island Residents Unite to Fight to Save Their Neighborhood From a Casino

Congratulations to Coney Island on their new civic association: The Neighborhood Revitalization Corporation!

Residents are ready to fight the lobbyists and the politicians who have been lobbied and who aren’t fighting for Coney Island!

Coney Island doesn’t want a casino because they have seen what it has done to other areas. We all can see what casinos did to Atlantic City!

Former NYC Council representative, Robert Cornegy should be embarassed for representing Thor in Coney Island – Cornegy knows better!

If you are an elected leader who isn’t fighting for Brooklyn, expect to be on blast! We will vote you out!

The Sephardic Community has joined with Coney Island residents to fight against the casinos, as gambling is a leading addiction in their community (and all communities). They have a petition here.

28-Story Building for 62nd Street & 8th Avenue. Why Doesn’t It Need a Special Permit or Review?

Helen Klein, journalist for the Brooklyn Reporter shared the story of the 28-story building for 62nd Street and 8th Avenue. (See story)

Community Board 10 mentioned the development on 62nd Street, but I don’t recall CB 10 mentioning that the building was twenty-eight stories. They also did not share that photo of the building.

In 2017, a different building was proposed for the area. (See here).

It’s sad that there hasn’t been any pushback over this. Once one oversized building slips in, others will want to around the neighborhood.

Who is the developer for this building?

Bay Ridge Restaurants With Outdoor Seating That Allow Dogs

I don’t know of any restaurant in Bay Ridge that allows dogs to dine inside with their owners. Only service dogs are allowed inside of restaurants. It’s a NYC health code violation. (See here)
