The Rhapsody Players will not have a concert at Shore Road Park tonight. It has been cancelled due as rain is expected.

Ridgite Helped These Baby Pigeons Get to Safety
A Ridgite found these baby pigeons in the backyard.
She couldn’t leave them in the yard because rats were going after the little birds. She kept the birds warm and the baby birds were sent to a rescue where they will be cared for. I’m thankful that someone who would take action for animal found them!
Over the weekend, a person had a hurt animal. He didn’t have a car to go to the Wildbird Fund, so he called them and they told him to put the animal in a paper bag with holes. Then they sent an Uber to pick up the hurt animal! I didn’t realize they did that. (Wildbird Fund)

Is Angel Guardian’s Landmarked Building Being Maintained? Vito LaBella Says No!
Vito LaBella noticed that the landmarked building, Angel Guardian Home, is not being cared for and maintained as a landmarked building.
LaBella noticed the following:
a) The copper gutters have separated and come off the building. The water is causing damage to some of the bricks as well.
b) There is blue graffiti on the brick wall on the side of the building.
c) Windows were left open so water is getting into the building.
LaBella explained that a local law can be passed to bring the building up to landmarked condition.
Vito LaBella showed what proper stewardship of a landmarked building looked like (He showed a beautiful building on 3rd Street and 3rd Avenue.)

Trucks Cover Poly Place a Year After Brannan and Gounardes Held a Meeting
Last June, Councilman Justin Brannan and Senator Andrew Gounardes held a townhall.
At a meeting last June, Councilman Justin Brannan, Senator Andrew Gounardes and former NYPD Captain Tolson said they were going to take care of the problem car hauler trucks and other trucks on Poly Place.
Captain Tolson said he was going to change to vertical parking on Poly Place to stop people from parking trucks. This was the second time we heard the Captain mention this “plan.” A year later, nothing has changed on Poly Place!
None of the cars are ever ticketed.
This November, Andrew Gounardes will tell you to vote for Justin Brannan. Please don’t. These two men are not able to get things done.
No community should have to keep asking a leader to do their job!!
When Brannan and Gounardes failed to do the job, Community Board 10 should have stepped in and had the trucks towed and the parking changed. But they believed the politicians and that’s why nothing gets done here.

**On July 19th, the NYPD removed four trucks from the beginning of the street.

Is There a Bed and Breakfast on 12th Avenue in Dyker Heights?
At a rally held last week in Brooklyn, one resident said that a Bed and Breakfast had opened on 12th Avenue in Dyker Heights.
Neither politician at the rally offered to help the resident because 82nd Street isn’t in their district. *Another example of how redistricting divides communities, so people can’t get help.
We passed the huge house today and expected to see a work crew outside. Instead, it was quiet and there was a SOLD sign on the property.
On the Department of Buildings website, the property received four tickets.
Someone wrote to Councilman Brannan about the property. Councilman Brannan wrote that the property was operating illegally as a hotel/Airbnb.
There are many ways to communicate information to a community. When a person is operating an illegal business, those living on that block should be informed. These residents have been fighting this alone, BUT THEY SHOULDN’T BE!
Councilman Brannan does not need to give out the address to the home, but he should have made Dyker Heights residents, especially those living near this, aware of what was going on.

No One Was Arrested For The Shooting Outside of The Sneaker Store on 4th Avenue in Bay Ridge

On Friday, June 23rd, a man shot a man and woman on 4th Avenue and 95th Street. (Info)
A month later, the 68th Precinct has not provided an update saying that the shooter was arrested. So the shooter is still on the loose.

A Week After Faridun Mavlonov Was Shot…The Killer Has Not Been Arrested
Last Monday, Faridun Mavlonov was shot on 20th Avenue in Brooklyn. The killer has not been arrested, but they published his name and photo. (News)
There has to be video footage to help the police locate the killer.
The principal for FDR High School wrote an email to parents and told them that the victim was not a student there. The newspapers continue to write that the shooter attends FDR.

Faridun Mavlonov‘s family is never going to be the same. Please pray for justice, so his family’s healing can begin.
