Fire on 6th Avenue and 74th Street in Bay Ridge

New 12’s Photo

A serious two-alarm fire happened at 7408 6th Avenue in Bay Ridge right before noon today. The fire started in the basement and went to the roof of the two-family home.

News 12 shared: “The FDNY said the fire started just before 11:45 a.m., and it took more than 100 first responders a little over an hour to get it under control.”

Thankfully, the residents were not home. Their dog was home, but Channel 12 says the dog got out safely – Thank God!

The interior of the house was destroyed by the fire. The Red Cross said five people were displaced.

The owner of the house owned it for over 30 years. His wife recently passed away.

While the news shared that there were no injuries, Councilwoman Kayla Santosuosso shared that there were five minor injuries. (Maybe she misunderstood – Five people were displaced).

BINGO on Friday Night With Tommy Eyebrows

Tommy Eyebrows runs BINGO at several places.

I’ve seen the winners at Tommy Eyebrows BINGO hold their money like a fan. The fan doesn’t have $1.00 or $5.00 bills. That’s when I realized that BINGO is a lot different than it was years ago and that’s why so many people play BINGO!

Go win with Tommy Eyebrows!

Senator Chan and Assemblyman Chang Back Bruce Blakeman. He Supports Gifted Education.

Senator Steve Chan and Assemblyman Lester Chang threw strong support behind Bruce Blakeman for Governor. When I read the paper I realized why. Chan and Chang are strong supporters of high quality schools and supporting parents.

Bruce Blakeman said he supports Gifted Education. Mayor Mamdami does not supported gifted education. Parents will be looking to Chan and Chang to help them because both politicians have consistently backed gifted education programs.

You May Need Kenan Thompson’ New Book

Actor and comedian, Kenan Thompson was at  St. Joseph Hill Academy Elementary School this week with The Bookmark Shoppe. Thomas signed some books and the books are at the Bookmark Shoppe.

If you celebrate Easter, this would make a nice gift from the Easter Bunny for a small child, especially if the child’s parent likes the actor and comedian or is a fan of Saturday Night Live (Thompson has been on the show since 2003).

The Bookmark Shoppe is at 8415 – 3rd Avenue. 718-833-5115
