Gunshots were heard by many Ridgites around 3:00 am on Wednesday morning. (See Citizen App)

Some residents said they woke up because they heard many gunshots (8 to 10).

Residents shared pictures of a home on 67th Street between Ridge & 3rd Avenue which has bullet holes in its windows.

How awful for the home owner and for all of the neighbors to this home! Many of those people saw the bullet holes but didn’t know what happened.

In a private Facebook group, Councilman Brannan said no one was home in the house.

Car Robbery – Helicopters Over Bay Ridge

Bay Ridge residents knew something was wrong when helicopters continued flying over Bay Ridge and hovering over Colonial Road.

Thieves driving a stolen BMW sped down 4th Avenue. People estimated that the car was traveling around 40 – 50 MPH down the Avenue.

The thieves crashed the vehicle on 3rd Avenue and Ovington. The suspects bolted from the car and ran on foot down the block (from the Brooklyn Firefly).

Councilman Justin Brannan told a Facebook group about the car theft, but didn’t bother telling the neighborhood. The lack of communication when things are happening in the neighborhood makes people uneasy.

A Hate Crime Happened on 86th Street in Bay Ridge Last Week. Politicians Downplayed It

Look at all of these young men in our community! No politician mentioned that this many men were involved! Downplaying hate crimes doesn’t help our community,

Last week a hate crime happened on October 16th on 86th Street around 11:15 p, in Bay Ridge.

People using the The Citizen App shared that something serious had happened.

Councilman Justin Brannan and Senator Andrew Gounardes have not done a good job communicating between the police and the community.

Another hate crime happened IN SEPTEMBER and parents protested about! Justin Brannan waited until last night to share information at the 68th Precinct meeting – more than 20 days later! Gounardes didn’t attend the meeting and still hasn’t mentioned it.
