October 22, 2023Bay Ridge Heads Up When Parking and Withdrawing Money From Bank ATMs

Two people driving a white Honda are targeting Ridgites who drive up to ATM machines at banks……especially older woman, who don’t speak English well.
This man made a Tik Tok video because someone he loves was targeted at the bank on 69th Street. He doesn’t want anyone else to be robbed.
While a Bay Ridge woman is in the bank, they will slash her tire while she is in the ATM.
Then she comes out of the bank, one person will go to speak with her and offer her help with the tire. The other person will go in your car and take the money you withdrew.
The car they are driving is a white Honda. It has temporary plates which came up as a Mercedes.

October 22, 2023If You Smell Plastic in Bay Ridge Today…Stop & Store on 63rd Street Had a Fire

If you smell fire in Bay Ridge today, it is because there was a 3 Alarm fire at the Stop and Stor storage place on 63rd Street between 5th & 6th Avenue in Sunset Park.

The storage place had 300 e-bikes and e-scooters in two storage unit.

Channel 2 News
Three ebikes burst into flames and Channel 1 News said the sprinkler system in the storage unit was not made to put out an electrical fire.
Why are e-bikes/scooters allowed to be stored in a public storage facility when we know how dangerous they batteries are. One firefighter had to be sent to the hospital. One hundred and forty firefighters were present and it took hours to put out the fire.

Fourteen people are dead from e-bikes that went on fire and not one person in NYC has taken immediate action to stop the fifteen person from dying!

October 22, 2023Ralph Schiano Street Renaming in Bay Ridge

Today, residents saw that 3rd Avenue and 92nd Street had podiums and the street was closed for a street renaming.

The street was named for Ralph Schiano, former owner of Marine Market. Marine Market opened in 1938. Ralph Schiano died in 2017.
Ralph was a successful small business owner and his shop was liked by everyone in Bay Ridge. One Ridgite said that George was called “the mayor of 3rd Avenue” back in the day.
I wasn’t able to find a photo of either Schiano or Marine Market, so maybe someone will share one. Also this event was not shared with the community.
George shared a video of the event here.

In some videos, the people sat down on the street.
At this point, we should have seen local Palestinian leaders stepping up. But there were none.
Who has the respect and authority to speak with the protesters? There has to be someone here who is laying low. There are many organizations who could have invited the protesters to have some soup and bread for dinner.

The police were determined to keep the protesters away from the BQE because at the last rally, they entered the highway and held up traffic.

Some people were put into the white police bus to be arrested/detained because they would not get out of the street.
