Palestinian Demonstration in Bay Ridge on 11/18

Photo: Tom Hilton
This afternoon, Palestinians and non-Palestinians gathered on 4th Avenue and 86th Street in Bay Ridge calling for a ceasefire in the Gaza.

The newspapers aren’t covering what’s happening in the Gaza well.

Palestinian protests in NY are not being covered well either, so it’s nice that Bay Ridge photographer took the time to cover this.

While this demonstration wasn’t as large as the last one, there are a lot more non-Palestinian people at the protest with signs because they understand what is happening.
WOW this is sending a clear message:

This protest and the one in Sunset park this evening were peaceful protests calling for a ceasefire.

The news doesn’t even relay how many people have been killed.

Maybe In Our Lifetime needs to partner with local photographers like Tom Hilton so people see the truth about their demonstrations and protests for The Gaza.

November 18, 2023RIP Annemarie Weisner – Bay Ridge

Annemarie Weisner was the 72-year-old grandmother, who was killed on Marine Avenue in Bay Ridge by a hit-and-run driver on Thursday evening.

Annemarie’s family shared these pictures of a radiant woman, who loved her life.

Hopefully, the NYPD will be able to track down the killed to give them some justice. In this video, Annemarie’s best friend speaks – it’s very sad:
The reporter in the video noted that this street did not have any traffic lights, speed bumps or stop signs.

Annemarie was a musician and loved by her friends, neighbors and family. We hope that the person responsible will be arrested soon.
RIP Annemarie. Prayers for her friends and the Weisner Family.

November 16, 2023Palestinian March – 86th St. in Bay Ridge 11/18

People have the right to protest. On Saturday, November 18th at 2:00 pm, Within Our Lifetime will hold a rally on 86th Street and 4th Avenue.
When people are angry, organizers of the event should be present at the end of the rally to speak to them.
At the end of this protest, the protesters that remain in the area need to be brought to an area to have some soup or coffee and talk to each other. They are fighting for their country and this is a very upsetting protest for people.
The NYPD in Bay Ridge is organized and there shouldn’t be a battle between the protesters and the police.
The police aren’t responsible for what’s happening in Gaza, so when the rally end, please go with your friends to some of the great places in Bay Ridge. Asal Yemen on 5th Avenue and 76th Street has Yemeni tea & honeycomb bread. Both would be great after a chilly afternoon.

Have you tried Ayat? It’s on 85th Street and 3rd Avenue – not only is the food great, but the owners are very nice people too!

Look at how gorgeous this art is:
