Anti-Palestinian Remarks Yelled in Bay Ridge – 86th Street near 4th Avenue
Last night, around 11:30 pm, three cars waving Israeli flags on 86th Street and 4th Avenue started in with three Palestinian men 18-21 years old were walking in Bay Ridge. The car stopped and an 18-year-old was punched. (Story here)

Anti-Bullying Protest Outside of PS 264 Today

Tonight there was a Community Education Council Meeting at PS 264. Hundreds of students and parents stood outside of PS 264 on 89th Street having an anti-bullying protest in Bay Ridge today.
The real story was shown in the parent’s signs, even if no paper reported it.
We shouldn’t need signs that say: Zero Tolerance to Adults Assaulting Minors. An Adult ASSAULTED A MINOR on September 28th!! (NY Post Story 10/15/23)
The children involved do not attend this school. It started with some middle school students having a conflict and fighting. And the fighting should have ended there.
Then family members got involved and there was more fighting! I’m being vague so you understand what happened, but rehashing the story isn’t good as preteens are involved and they need to move forward.
Things escalated again and the same man went to the boy’s home with other to fight again. The Post wrote that they said anti-Asian slurs. (From here)
The father of the child fought the man. He needed stitches in his head and has a broken finger. And now all who were fighting are facing charges by District Attorney, Eric Gonzalez.
There was a video circulating on Facebook – it was awful because adults were fighting children! Why were people filming instead of getting help to stop these fights?
Parents at the rally outside of PS 264 called for leniency for father, who was defending themself.
Politicians representing the school area are Justin Brannan and Andrew Gounardes – neither politician said a word about the hate from September because they are too busy playing on X (Twitter).

Senator Gounardes Wants to Protect Children from Cigarettes, But Not Illegal Weed Shops
Today, Andrew Gounardes took photos of himself talking about a bill to regulate the Internet. Gounardes said he would protect children from digital harm “just like we protect them from cigarettes.”
Andrew Gounardes voted for legislation which legalized weed shops and has allowed teens in our area to make purchases.
In July 2023, Governor Hochul said she was going to close/fine the shops/landlords. In Bay Ridge, no action was taken.
Justin Brannan has said several times that he has to get creative, but he also hasn’t taken action against the ILLEGAL weed shops. These are all people who do not care.
