Councilman Carr’s Working in Bay Ridge

Due to redistricting, Councilman Carr from Staten Island represents part of Dyker Heights.

Councilman Carr had some of vehicles on Poly Place removed and he said he is going to stay on this as long as needed!

In July 2022, Councilman Brannan and Senator Andrew Gounardes held a meeting with the head of the 68th Precinct and they said were going to do it, but they didn’t.

The 68th Precinct tagged Councilman Carr:

Councilman Carr is professional. His staffer was at CB 10’s meeting and he said he would like to help with quality of life issues.

Follow Councilman Carr’s Facebook page – he doesn’t play around on Twitter like the other politicians.

Update on the Homeless Shelter in Bay Ridge

Last month, residents in Bay Ridge protested outside of Councilman Justin Brannan’s office. (Info and photos)

Councilman Brannan had his staffer take photos of the protesters and then mocked them on his Facebook page. (See here and here) People have the right to protest a developer winning in their community! You know we have bad representatives because other politicians didn’t tell Brannan to take that down! District Leader, Chris McCreight is silent as usual!

On social media, nice Bay Ridge residents asked Councilman Brannan why he didn’t go to the Towers and meet with the people.

Brannan told them he would hold a meeting there. Councilman Brannan did not hold a meeting or provide the residents any more information. Brannan has not written about the homeless shelter in any mailing. The Councilman likes to plays on Twitter. (See here)

In February, the head of Community Board 10 said that they were going to have someone come to a Spring meeting and speak about the hotel. I don’t believe her because she said that about the high school as well! Community Board 10 members don’t live near that location, so they don’t care and the topic is passed over.

By now, Community Board 10 should have had Justin Brannan speak on the topic. Brannan is not representing the community or communicating and CB 10 should be holding him accountable (other Community Boards are better at this.) How did this project get so far without community input?

Andrew Gounardes Failed To Share Info About the 3rd Street Migrant Shelter for 400 Men

Senator Andrew Gounardes loves to tweet, but he isn’t sharing relevant information with Brooklyn. A 400 bed shelter for men will be on 3rd Street. Brownstoner has the story (here)

Residents were interviewed by NY1 News and men spoke out against it because it is just too many people being placed in the area. Gounardes should have fought to size down this project.

The Council representative for the area held a meeting this week:

Replace Iwen Chu with Steven Chan – D17

The more I hear about Steven Chan, the more I like him!

Steven Chan is running to be Senator of District 17 – he is facing off with Iwen Chu. Iwen has not been ineffective against crime. When a teen was shot in July, Iwen didn’d do anything.

Steven Chan is a former police officer and a former Marine. Who could be better at fighting crime than a former police officer? Chan is also a father so education is a concern for him as his children attend public school!

I saw this video of Steven Chan. He will make a good leader because he understands the culture of Brooklyn and the problems in Brooklyn!

Councilwoman Zhuang Wants Thousands of Brooklynites to Protest Against the Shelter – 3/16

On Saturday, March 16th at 2:00 pm, NYC Council Representative Susan Zhuang is holding the largest protest against a homeless shelter being planned for 86th Street and 25th Avenue.

Google Translate shows this:

Political hopefuls planned to hold a protest on the same day, but Councilwoman Zhuang needs this to be one united protest to send the message that Brooklyn is against this location for a homeless shelter. If you are a politician, show that you can work with other elected leaders to fight for Brooklyn.

Susan Zhuang actually is against this shelter and she was there when she should have been celebrating Lunar New Year with her family. The developers started working when they thought she was celebrating!

Andrew Gounardes Takes Photos, But Will Not Help These Men

Bay Ridge is being ignored by Senator Andrew Gounardes. The homeless crisis at the 95th St station continues to get worse! It was particularly terrible this morning.
