Can Mayor Adams Hear This Asian Community in Brooklyn?

Photo: Steve Chan
Every day, Brooklynites have gathered to show their disapproval of a shelter being built on 86th Street and 25th Avenue.
Why the majority of protesters are Asian, not all of them are Asian:
More neighbors join the protest every day for obvious reasons as stated on their posters. Credits should be given to all the organizers and participants including @susanzhuangnyc @AMWilliamColton @AMLesterChangNY @Iwen4NY who chose to stand with and represent their constituents. pic.twitter.com/AWF8bz52ln

Donations of food are being sent to support the protesters:

They protesters were fired up today:
And this was two nights ago:
The protesters have signs up asking Brooklynites to honk and drivers gladly respond to show their support.

Today, Lester Chang shared this picture:

Assemblyman Chang also shared this information: There are two tents set up and they are getting everyone registered to vote.

What that means: If Eric Adams can’t hear them, they will vote together for someone who will make their community safe. The Mayor has a lot of good women on his staff, so hopefully they will have good news for this community soon because those running against the mayor are far left liberals.
Why can’t the mayor make this shelter for families? I think many of them people in Gravesend would feel more at ease if the shelter wasn’t for 150 men. They heard about all the problems at the shelter at 47 Hall Street in Clinton Hill and must be afraid/worried. (Info)
On Sunday, they are having a rally:

July 25, 2024Happy Hour for Gounardes for Free Childcare?!

Politicians love to send out flyers to the community boasting about what they did.
Last September, Andrew Gounardes sent out a flyer saying that the MTA was giving 8 minute service. (See Below) The MTA gave some trains 8 minute service, but not in Bay Ridge. Gounardes never checked the train service before sending the flyer to the whole community!

Andrew Gounardes probably thought most of you wouldn’t read the flyer since it was September and you were busy!.
Some people did and they called him out. Gounardes said the truth online, but never corrected the mistake in a mailer. (See here)
This year, Andrew Gounardes’ mailer failed to mention that PS 185’s and other public schools in our area were cut by NYS funding. Parents are only finding out now. (Here)
If parents knew, they would have gone to other politicians to ask for help. PS 185 is Councilman Justin Brannan’s alma mater, so surely he would have helped. Brannan had a lot of money because he used it to pay for Summer days at many parks across the district. (See here)
Children who attended afterschool programs at PS 185 for free last year will not be able to attend this year because parents will have to pay $3,300 per child ($6,600 for two children!) Many schools in our area still have free afterschool programs, so why were some removed?

Next week, a group with a Manhattan is hailing Gounardes with a Happy Hour because they want free childcare. The organization doesn’t seem to care that childcare and tutoring were taken away from some families in Bay Ridge.
Why is our community paying such high property taxes, if afterschool programs at some schools in our area were defunded at the state level?

July 25, 2024More Mailboxes Removed From Bay Ridge

Like garbage cans, mailboxes are quietly being removed and no one is letting the community know that they were removed or WHY they were removed.
Usually, when they remove a mailbox, they replace it with the type that makes it harder for thieves to steal mail.
Now USPS is removing mailboxes in our area when there is too much mail theft.
Some people in Bay Ridge are on vacation and are coming home to missing mailboxes!
So far the following mailboxes have been removed:
92nd Street and 3rd Avenue
92nd Street and Colonial
8901 Shore Road
80th Street and Harborview
Bay Ridge Avenue and Narrows and Colonial
69th Street – Shore and Colonial
Mailboxes in Dyker Heights have also been removed. (See here) They were able to get one mailbox returned.

Zorro is a dog owned by an elderly woman in our area. Some kind neighbors noticed Zorro needed help. He had a tumor on his side that needs to be removed and biopsied. Zorro also needed to be groomed and have his teeth cleaned.
They started a Go Fund Me and the community responded here.

Mary-Alexis and Lisa took Zorro to Healthy Pets. for vaccines, bloodwork and a pre-op exam! Surgery will be scheduled soon!
Dr. Briones at Healthy Pets for donated his services. Healthy Pets at 7606 3rd Avenue.
A dog grooming business, Bring Your Own Pet Grooming (see here) offered to groom Zorro for free!
Thank you Mary-Alexis and Lisa for noticing Zorro needed help and taking action….most people wouldn’t take someone else’s dog to the vet. And then they got other people involved so that Zorro gets what he needs…simply amazing!
Thank you to all the kind people who chipped in to help Zoro. And finally, thank you to Dr. Briones and Bring Your Own Pet for helping Zorro!

Flag of the TALIBAN right in our own backyard, in my district in Southern Brooklyn. Open border policies allow for this and the Democrat party encourages it. And who has miserably failed as our “border czar”? @KamalaHarris! pic.twitter.com/4QptX61O3F
