June 24, 2024Billy Zeoli – Can a Regular Bay Ridge Resident Win a Democrat District Leader Position?

Update: Sadly, no they can’t.
Billy Zeoli is running against Chris McCreight for District Leader. Election day is Tuesday, June 25th.
Billy wants to get regular people elected to represent Bay Ridge.
Bay Ridge, vote for Billy Zeoli if you are tired of developers and lobbyists winning in Bay Ridge. If we want change, we need to vote for change!
Years ago, Chris McCreight used to speak out against corruption, but since being Justin Brannan’s chief-of-staff, McCreight has been silent. (Info)
Zeoli is not a politician and he’s not part of the group that is failing our community. I spoke to him about corruption and Billy told me he would work to stop corruption!

June 24, 2024Malliotakis Stands With Bay Ridge Moms Against the Dispensary at Pilo Arts Location in Bay Ridge

Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis, Michael Tannousis and Alec Brook-Krasny stand with Bay Ridge Mothers and residents against this location for a cannabis dispensary.

Michael Tannousis’ photo
Many parents don’t want their preteens and teens to be tempted to purchase cannabis. They don’t want their children smelling cannabis regularly while they are walking home from school. The illegal stores have been robbed a lot because this is a cash only business. Parents don’t want their children to be safe in their community.
If you are against cannabis at this location, call:
1) NYS Office of Cannabis Management (888) 626-5151 (Ask for the Licensing Division)
2) NYS Governor’s Office (518) 474-8390
3) NYC Mayor’s Office (212) 306-7660

Justin Brannan’s office was protested against AGAIN today. Did you notice the Councilman’s new green awning?

Photo: Dino Diakoumakos
The people chanted: “Brannan and Gounardes gotta go!” (See here)
They taped their signs against the dispensary onto the window of the office. (See here) One woman, who was pushing a baby stroller, banged on the office window, but the group stopped her (this can be seen in the video.)
Brannan was not at the office to speak with the protesters. Why didn’t Chris McCreight, the Chief of Staff speak to them and take their contact information? Years ago, Brannan and McCreight would mock Republican politician who hid from protesters.
While other NYC Council representatives accompanied the sheriff to close down illegal cannabis shops, Brannan didn’t. (Info)

For over a year, Brannan has been gaslighting Bay Ridge telling us he was going to “get creative” to get these illegal shops. (Info) He didn’t.
On social media, Brannan responded, “One Love” to a person praising a Bay Ridge shop for selling shroom chocolate. (“One Love” is an expression of unity.)

Many people who protested are not against the sale of cannabis – they are against this location because it is near their child’s school.

June 24, 2024Justin Brannan’s Fear Mongering Robocall For Chris McCreight

On Saturday morning at 11:00 am, we received a robocall from Justin Brannan. He was trying to fear monger the Democrats in Brooklyn, so they would vote for Chris McCreight!
Tuesday, June 25th is the last day to vote against Chris McCreight.
Many years ago, Chris McCreight was outspoken against corruption. I spoke to him online and he explained to me what corruption and gerrymandering were.

When Brannan was elected to NYC Council, McCreight became his chief-of-staff and McCreight no longer spoke out against corruption.
He also became Silent Chris McCreight.
1) Chris McCreight was present at the City of Yes Meeting at St. Anselm. He did not get up to speak. Brannan told us this on social media after the meeting. He didn’t attend and expected McCreight to speak at the meeting.

2) When residents in the Bay Ridge Towers rallied outside of Councilman Brannan’s office because Brannan failed to share information about the homeless shelter. (Info) Councilman Brannan told the residents of the Bay Ridge Towers that he was going to have someone speak to them about the homeless shelter. Brannan didn’t keep his word. Why didn’t Chris McCreight provide the people in the Towers with information?

3) When a developer was going to build a 65-foot-tall structure on 86th Street in Dyker Heights last April, Chris McCreight didn’t go to the meeting to support the residents in Dyker Heights. (Info)

3) When Brooklyn was gerrymandered into new districts at the state and city level, McCreight was silent. (Info on NYS gerrymandering) (Info on NYC gerrymandering)

No district should look like this snake!

4) When the new Asian District in Brooklyn had an election for a NYC Council representative, why did Chris McCreight push Wai Yee Chan from Queens on Dyker Heights and Sunset Park? Chris used to call out politicians who didn’t live in the area where they were running for office.

Wai Yee lost by a lot. (Her area are in green on this map) McCreight did not help Susan with her election against Republicans!

5) When speed cameras caught Justin Brannan 16 times, Chris McCreight was silent, even though he was walking around with a sign about Marty Golden’s driving: (Info)

6) When the Nathan’ school deal went down, Chris McCreight didn’t speak out against an unregistered lobbyist making plans in Bay Ridge. (Info here)

7) When Manhattan residents found out that almost 1000 trees were going to be removed from East River Park and the park was going to be closed to the public, they contacted Justin Brannan because he was NYC Council’s Committee on the Environmental Protection and Resiliency. (Info) These environmentalists came to Brooklyn and filmed the video below because they were not allowed to go in the office (even with masks on) and speak with Brannan. (Info)

Why didn’t Chris McCreight help these people and answer their questions?
Tuesday, June 25th is the last day to vote against Chris McCreight.
The man running against Chris McCreight is Billy Zeoli. His neighbors like him and everyone says he is a nice guy. Susan Zhuang endorsed Billy Zeoli over Chris McCreight!

June 23, 2024What Other Areas of NYC Have For Composting

We visited a friend and saw the composting box.
NYC got smarter about composting and put these bins around the city.

You download the app and you can find and open the bins in yellow to add your stuff (the green markers are for ones that open without the app).
The app keeps the box closed so people don’t use it for regular garbage.
