A Cannondale Treadwell 2 bike was taken yesterday on 96th Street and 3rd Avenue.
It has bright turquoise handles and pedals so it’s easy to see it.

July 7, 2024Green Pacifica Bike Jacked Yesterday at Noon
A light green Pacifica woman’s bike was stolen as the owner went into the post office on 5th Avenue and 88th Street. (In the photo, it is behind the silver bike.)
The owner wrote that it was parked in front of the windows of the Post Office. I don’t think there is anywhere to lock it down there.

A tan chihuahua was found sitting in front of a house in Dyker Heights.
A nice person brought the dog to the Brooklyn Veterinary Group at 7624 New Utrecht Avenue in Brooklyn.

July 6, 2024Another Rescue at Coney Island Beach
Two people were removed from the water today and taken to the hospital. Hopefully, they are alright.
There are no lifeguards after 6:00 pm at the beach.

July 5, 2024RIP Aisha and Zinab Mohammad
Aisha and Zinab Mohammad went missing at Coney Island Beach around 8:10 pm. When it started to rain, Brooklynites ran for cover. The two sisters went into the water. (News)
The water was rough and a 24-year-old man went to the water to help the sisters. He didn’t know how to swim and he is still missing. (News)

Aisha was 18-years-old and Zinab was seventeen. Helicopters and rescue boats searched for them. (Videos)
Around 9:15 pm the young women were located on the shoreline. (Source) They were brought to the hospital, but they had died.
RIP Aisha and Zinab.

An 85-year-old Bay Ridge resident recently passed away. He has over 25 kittens and cats in his apartment.
The man originally had two cats, which kept multiplying.
His brother contacted a woman who rescues cats to help find homes for these friendly kitties.

The 68th Precinct shared that they collected these fireworks on July 4th.
Residents living in then 80’s said that it didn’t come from near them because there were a lot of fireworks there this year.

July 5, 2024Plenty of Fireworks in Dyker Heights on July 4th
Bay Ridge was quiet on July 4th compared to the years before when it sounded like bombs going off in the neighborhood.
There were plenty of fireworks in Dyker Heights, but less than other years.
I think some people didn’t use theirs because of the rain and they will be setting them off this weekend.

Blue Door Seafood Taverna at 8413 – 3rd Avenue has Vegan Moussaka. While Bay Ridge has many Greek restaurants.
I don’t think I have ever seen vegan moussaka on any menu.
