Missing Four-Year-Old Girl Was Found
A 4-year-old girl was lost around 16th Avenue and 72nd Street around 10:30 pm. (Info)
How awful that must have been for her family!
People heard the helicopters searching the area. Finally, she was found at Satellite Park.

Basketball Clinic on Sunday for 5-9 Yr. Olds
For four Sundays from July 14th to August 4th there will be a basketball clinic on instructional drills and playing the game.
This basketball clinic is for children 5 to 9 years old.
It will take place at John Jay High School from 9:15 am -10:15 am.
$100 for all four classes or $30 for drop in. (Register here)

Fish Store in Bay Ridge or Nearby in Brooklyn
1) Constantinos Fish Market at 6922 – 3rd Avenue. 718-745-4710 Mike is fantastic! This store sells fresh fish. The selections vary from day-to-day because it depends what was caught locally.
2) Fish Bar is on 3rd Avenue and 76th Street – this place is amazing because they sell, prepare and cook the fish, if you want them too. Delicious lobster roll.
3) Brooklyn Market at 8102 3rd Avenue – people like their lemon sole – scallops and salmon. I’ve bought salmon there and it is fresh.
4) LaBella Supermarket at 7907 – 13th Avenue. My friends in Dyker Heights go here or to the store in #5 (which is across the street from LaBella Supermarket)
5) Cristoford Fish Market at 7002 – 18th Avenue – I have never bought fish from here, but many of my friends say this store sells the freshest fish in the area. It is across the street from Villabate.
6) Ok Fish Market at on the corner of 69th Street and 18th Avenue is where Bensonhurst residents get fresh fish.
7) John’s Family Fish Market on Avenue U between West 6th and West 5th Streets. This place has been around for a long time and people swear it has the freshest fish.
8) Seatide Gourmet 5914 Avenue N 718-209-3474
9) Avenue U fish Market in Sheepshead Bay (East 27 Street)
10) During the pandemic, we used Pierless Fish – they deliver https://www.pierlessfish.com/ Clams, oysters and halibut. They have an Instagram and show the men capturing fish in Long Island each week.

Italian Ice in Bay Ridge or Nearby in Brooklyn
While Ginos went out of business (Info), there are still plenty of places selling other Italian ices:
1) Villabate at 7001 – 18th Avenue has amazing Italian ice all year round (they have less flavors in the Winter than in the Summer)
2) Uncle Louie G’s at 7626 – 5th Avenue has many flavors, but the cherry ice has real cherries in it.
3) Mancini’s Pizzeria at 8504 – 5th Avenue
4) Vesuvio’s at 7305 3rd Avenue
5) Rocco’s Pizzeria on 5th Avenue between 78th and 79th Street

Pigeon Caught in Building on 5th Ave. & 88th St.
Update: The bird died.
Mary Jo shared the photos of this skinny, dehydrated pigeon that is stuck inside the vacant building across from the Post Office on 5th Avenue and 88th Street.
The bird has been inside for some time and is frantically pecking at the window!
NYC purchased this property in 2021 from the same guy who owned the Nathan’s lot and were supposed to put a school at this location. (Info)
Mary Jo shared the photos on social media because local animal activists were able to get another bird out of a locked cannabis shop a few weeks ago. (Info)
Councilman Brannan said School Construction Authority (SCA) owns the building and he’s on it. Brannan said he was going to help the last bird stuck in a building, but didn’t do anything.
Hopefully there is a kind locksmith in the area, who can let the bird out.

Update 1: Susan Zhuang got the protesters together fast and called the Department of Buildings. Zhuang said this isn’t safe.
