Laila Restaurant opened on the corner of 3rd Avenue and 86th Street. Robert Sietsema of Eater New York reviewed the new Syrian restaurant and said it had “the most astonishing grape leaves in New York.” Sietsema took photos of the beautiful dishes and discussed each. (See article)
Congratulations to the owners, Amal and Alan Dakhlallah for creating a beautiful restaurant (both inside and outside). Lee and I loved it and the service at Laila is outstanding as well.

November 3, 2024Europa Pizzeria Restaurant on 20th Avenue in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn Closed

I was surprised to hear that Europa Pizzeria Restaurant on 65th Street and 20th Avenue closed their business. This was their goodbye message:

For over twenty years, this place was always busy.
Restaurant patrons said that the building was sold. I saw one site with this price for the property.

Good luck Nino. We wish Nino good health and a happy retirement!
